What does it take to be a moderator? (Or any title for that matter?)

Let me explain... One time a moderator (idk who) mentioned that there will be a post on Discuss the Boards when they need new moderators or whatever, and after a short interview you may be able to be one.

At first I thought "that'd be cool but I probably can't do that" then I thought "Well I probably spend 1+ hours on the boards every day and I'm generally really active, so I may have what it takes..."

This isn't a post saying "MAKE ME MODERATOR HURDEDURR" I just want to know what the requirements are if possible so when help is wanted, I'll know if I were to apply if i may actually get it ^_^

We just recently had a recruitment period that is closed now, but this thread outlines all the things we were looking for at the time, and generally speaking anything we'd be looking for again should we choose to recruit additional moderators again.

Even if you don't meet certain criteria from that list, it isn't necessarily disqualifying. There's a lot of variables that can influence whether or not you would be chosen, but I encourage you to give it a shot and apply the next time we're recruiting. Even if you did apply this time around and didn't make it, I'd encourage you to try again in the future. :3
