Blocking suggestion

Could we get the ability to block people on the boards? I would seirously like to block the people who just randomly argue with everyone. They just go around from post to post playing devil's advocate. I'm open to arguements, just not when they're from someone like that. Someone who just wants to tell you that they're right and you're wrong. It's not an arguement then... it's just talking to a brick wall.

How it should work: when you block someone you don't get notifications if they reply to something you post and all their comments show up the same way heavily downvoted comments show up. You'd have to click on it through the disclaimer to see it.

I think this would create a better boards enviornment. Some people on here are just annoying. They're close minded and if anyone is against their sheep herd they're going to attack you. The boards is for discussion... not your one sided flame at riot. I'm sick of people who want to watch this game burn and not actually try to think of resolutions to their problems. They act like they care about this game... but if you cared about the game why are you treating it like this? Some of them just claim to have addictions and otherwise they would quit... don't blame that on riot... see a therapist and leave this community alone. I just want to block all the annoying pessimists ):

I mean you are probably going to hate me for "playing devil's advocate" here, but you could also just ignore them if they are not hurting anyone. Down vote their comment and move on. Plus I bet at least 50% of the time someone brings up a valid argument whether trolling or not you will instantly dismiss it because they are... I dont know... "Someone like that." But I am probably wrong, and you are probably right. #BlockEveryone

You're not playing devil's advocate, you're actually offering a resonable suggestion. I do want to ignore them and blocking them makes it that much easier. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and the league client all have mute/block features for a reason. l remember visiting a other forums that had block features as well. I'm not too sure why League's boards is so behind on times.

Ignoring people isn't as easy as it sounds when they're not blocked. Even if I try my best to ignore them and I don't give them my time of day, I'm still human, it'll still bug me. It'd just make the boards a lot less tilting and better place I think. I'm not perfect; If just ignoring someone who isn't directly hurting anyone was that easy, league wouldn't be so toxic. Also if someone does bring up a valid argument, I'm open to it. Like yours; However, if it's a bs argument or the person is literally just a brick wall, it's a waste of my time and emotions.

I don't like people who are on here just non stop complaining about Yasuo or something and then you give them advice to play vs Yasuo and they're like, "no yasuo is just op and annoying the play against!!! riot needs to remove him." You'll even be like, I agree that Yasuo is annoying and x reason makes them very strong, but there are ways to play around him. Then they'll be like "no he's just op!!! remove him riot I hate you!!!" Like they're unreasonable and annoying, I'd like to block them.

I'm not too sure why you got passive agro towards the end, "But I am probably wrong, and you are probably right. #BlockEveryone." I don't think you have enough information to make that statement. I don't want to block EVERYONE and I don't think you're wrong for having your own opinion. Maybe you were being serious and actually agreeing with me... but I'm pretty sure you were being sarcastic (hard to tell since it's the internet).

Having a block option won't hurt anyone, it'll only help. So why not have it? Just because you won't use it personally doesn't mean we shouldn't add it. Your expierence won't change on the boards but a lot of people might be able to have a better time on here. I don't know if I'm missing something that's obvious, because in that case you should tell me. I just don't see how adding a block button could some how worsen the boards. You like to leave everyone unblocked, I like to block people I find annoying... why can't we both just have what we want? This is one of the only situations where that's possible.

The only reasons I could think of not having a block button are:

Riot has some techincal limitations preventing them from doing it

Riot doesn't think that's good for the boards enviornment (I wouldn't really agree with them and I'd like to hear why they'd think that)

They don't have the time to add it in/ it's not as important as other things on their prority list (which would be fine, but I'd at least like to hear confirmation that it's a feature coming)

Otherwise I'm clueless as to why we shouldn't have one and I'd like to hear more from you. So far you haven't given much to me other than you think I should ignore those I find annoying. I wish I could but I can't, so I'd like that block button. Again, strongest point here imo, them adding a block button wouldn't hurt anyone at all so why not add it?
