New VS event hate

I don't get it. Us peeps who like cute, not so serious skin lines have had to sit through so much edgey stuff. We get one cute skinline, that I personally love, and we're getting people talking about how they're RUINING their main with the skin? (Fizz mains). There are a ton of trash skins in my opinion. There are a ton of people who love those trash skins so I don't go out and hate on riot for it. Like damn, I didn't see a single person complain about y'all getting edgey stuff non stop, but they finally feed my taste in skins and I see all this hate? Like stop lol. Realize just because you don't like it, other people do. It's okay to say you dislike it, but asking riot to just stop the event, calling the event a joke, saying it's ruining your main, and attacking the people that do like it, that's not okay. So far all we really have are the April fools skins and the Star guardians. Meanwhile just about everything else is edge lord. Let us have somethingggg. Literally I'm seeing people ask for "Kha'Zix vs Rengar" like we need another edge lord contest where the dark side wins yet again 3x in a row.

I don't really see the hate, but I can see where players would complain about the quality drop.

Just gonna point out that there are a variety of different people who play the game.

What? Chinese New Year, April Fools, Harrowing, Snowdown and Star Guardian are all cuter, light-hearted events - even K/DA and Odyssey are very much on the upbeat side of things. The "serious" events we usually get are PROJECT:, Dark Star, Blood Moon and, you guessed it, Vs. There's no shortage of "happier" skin lines.

Besides, what leaves a bad taste isn't making a funnier event as taking Vs. away for that. If Riot wanted to do a Dogs and Cats skin line, that's okay. I still think it's a shitty idea, but just use April Fools or some other time for it and it's all fine. The Vs. event already had a theme and a visual identity established, and taking that away for something completely unrelated is just shitting on the entire concept.

Fizz's last skin was also Omega Squad, which is rather dark/edgy IMO. Could use a silly one for contrast. Still, its a questionable choice. If I were a Rioter on the skins team, I would've picked a different champion for this skin.

We're yet to see the cat, though, so I'm curious as to who that is.

First, why are serious skin lines called "edgy"? What is this, 12 year olds on Reddit? A lot of people, myself included, prefer serious skins over joke / fun skins that make no sense and look goofy with nothing to enhance the character or their theme with.

Second, serious skin lines usually have a more coherent atmosphere with them, and this new Vs looks like a battle of 750 RP skins. Sorry, i'm not digging it until it comes out as something worth looking at.

I’m on board with cats VS dogs, but Fizz is tricky, annoying, and hurts you when you least expect it. He should be a cat.

This is rubbish at best. You barely get cutesy skins? seriously? seriously? Star Guardian, Pajamas, KDA, summer skins, etc etc. You don't get to ruin our favorite edgy event for ur nonesene skins.

To be honest, most things considered "edgy" are just things that are not wholesome and super happy.

And before you say anything, extremely cute things reach cringe levels quickly and same with extremely dark things. Extremes are bad, but i really dislike this ""wars"" of :"OMG YOU LIKE insert no cute thing here, ITS EDGY, YOU ARE EDGY GAME IS BECOMING EDGY!!!1111!!!" and "OMG YOU LIKE insert any non serious thing here , ITS CRINGE, THIS IS BECOMING DISNEY!!!!111!"

Imo in league this is because, champions tend to be either too dark or too cute.

Zoe is extremely cringe and so is Pyke. They both represent those extremes I'm talking about.

Now about the VS event, say what you want but a "Dog VS Cats" event sound like extremely dissapointing and meh event. I'll rather get a polished VS event, about anything that its more related to the game and even using some of the lore than just a random question like that.

And actually there is a very easy solution for this, move the Dog vs Cats to an april fools event thats similar to a VS event. Keep the VS event a bit more developed and less casual.

Cause for me the world Dog vs Cats just sounds as an excuse for saying : "Vs event take too much time, let's take the easy path and release some ahri and lux skins and done".

It's because the skins aren't cute. They're abominations. It's like an animal version of the uncanney valley: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley

They look super creepy because they look "almost like real dogs but not quite." In order to be cute, it would need to be more cartoony and fun.
