I thought they were all kinda the same but now Im stsrting to see threads marked when a herald responds. Obviously red with a riot logo is an official rioter. Can someone explain the difference between herald, arbiter, moderator, etc?
Hiya, as you can see by my title, I'm a Moderator. All of the tags mean different things, and I'll talk through them just a little.
Red, as you said, are Riot staff, simple and to the point Purple are Heralds, they're the leaders of the Volunteers team. Light Blue are advisors, these are kind of like "seasoned" members of the Volunteer team, similar to Moderators but they have a distinct focus in the areas of: Gameplay, Player Behavior, and Ask the Community. And this minty green color is Moderator, we're responsible for maintaining the Boards as a non-toxic environment. We're usually the ones who will issue a penalty if you break a rule, too, so naughty Boards users might recognize this green color well ;o
But, teasing aside, a colored name and tag means this person is important and has been selected by Riot to do stuff internally. There are other colors you may not see as often, like the Orange support, or the Yellow archivist.
