Balance discussion is basically impossible on the boards
I can't use the words "nerf", "OP", and "broken" because the community by large sees it as whining regardless of the context and gets triggered. They see any of those words and unless you have the cred to back it up call you "trash", "noob", "get good", "boosted", etc.
These forums have been a joke over the years. I personally stopped caring about the forums because people start to circle jerk each other off. Some guy who befriends a large group of players just attracts a bunch of cancerous people who can't think for themselves to threads and just bombard even valid points and ideas. I can't tell you how many times in the past I have made threads where the objective was to balance champions or fix design flaws in kits, but because I triggered a white knight brigade it makes me get down voted into oblivion and people shit talk and don't even discuss. I have had longer arguments over stupid things than actual discussions about balance on these forums. But me, being the stubborn man I am, fights them instead of just ignoring them and keeping with the discussion because I like to try to convince every person of my point of view instead of just realizing some people you just can't convince.
Problem is a lot of people aren't very open minded here or operate off their feelings or current situation instead of the numbers or bigger picture very much like in real life. I don't know how many of you were here for pre-rework Poppy, but she basically was purposely left in the gutter because when she got built she could easily 1v5 penta if she ulted the right person and had trinity force because Riot knew they couldn't balance her kit and it needed a full scale rework. While she is a little hard to balance right now, she is in a much healthier state than she was pre-rework. I'm not saying people disagree with this opinion or agree with it, but this is one example of why sometimes champions who are broken need to be described that way. They cannot be balanced in their current form or overstep their bounds into other roles. But people see the word "broken" and just get triggered.
All I ask is for people to not look at individual words, but the entire idea. If the entire idea is a complaint then look at it and determine if they are actually bringing up valid points or are just complaining and offering no solutions or are maybe just uninformed. Also the correct solution if you believe you are right is to explain why you are right. Don't just say the equivalent of "I am right. You are wrong."
