Riot's Splash Art team is incredible!

The Dragon slayer Pantheon splash art looks amazing. I was so looking forward to buying it.

Then I saw the model. Very disappointed. Again.

I see splash art after splash art that looks amazing and then the in-game model does not even come close to living up to the hype the art creates. Maybe I am just too picky. I dunno. I just know that I cannot buy a skin unless it lives up to the badassness that the art leaves you to expect.

This has been discussed before and from what I understand it's largely the lighting effects generated in game versus what can be used in splash arts. The fine details are largely the same, he just can't be in a dark ominous setting next the fires of his destroyed victims in a well-lit middle of the day game. Even in TT, shadows can't be played round with easily.

I agree, i buy skins just because of the art somtimes xD

However, you have to give the 3d artists some leeway because not only is it possible to add much more detail as a "splash artist". But they also have a limit to how detailed the champion models can be.

I do think they can do a little better though:/

I have noticed in a lot of cases that they could have gone much further with certain aspects of a skin. Some skins have amazing recalls, with cool particles and sounds, while skins for the same price (or more) have petty recalls with no new particles where the champ just "strikes a pose".
