Yas Q ignores Shen's W

Title. Just lost a game because of it. Autoattacks are supposed to be blocked by Spirit's Refuge but apparently Steel Tempest gets a pass. Before anyone gives me the "it's an ability that works like an auto" so are GP and Ezreal Q and those get blocked so either this is a bug or Riot is being deliberately inconsistent.

Was it a direct Yasuo Q or one through a minion? Yasuo Q has 2 codings depending on how it hits an enemy.

That's... stupid and either a bug or Riot being deliberately inconsistent. Either way it needs changed.

Nah, it actually makes sence, since an auto only hits one enemy

It's neither a bug nor inconsistent. Having it that way also makes it so he can't AoE sheen-proc (would be scary sht.) It's part of learning Yasuo's laning and does not need to be changed.

If yasuo directly hits an enemy champion, his Q is coded as an auto and applies on-hit effects. If it goes through a unit first, the rest of the Q is applied as a spell to the opponents behind the first one, and those behind do not get the on-hits applied to them.

Going through a unit is a Yasuo technique which is used to do dmg while not taking aggro. It also makes the hit "not an auto" since the auto part hit the minion.

It is inconsistent and it does need changed. Something is either an auto or it isn't. Having a single cast of an ability work one way against one target and a different way against another is the very definition of inconsistent. It's confusing, and it's bad design, especially since there's no way to know that's how it works without having someone explain it to you since it isn't explained anywhere in game. Sure it prevents aoe on-hit effects, but it also lets Yasuo ignore his own counters; and he's lacking in counterplay badly enough as it is. It isn't just "part of learning his laning" because its consistent all throughout the game and lets him score unfair knockups for game-winning ults just by making sure there's even a single target between him and the person he's actually trying to kill. Which is always.

Perhaps the definition of consistency should be looked into. Yasuo's Q IS NOT inconsistent. It very clearly works that way always.

It shows during the lane. If he attacks with Q directly, he draws aggro (due to it being an auto). When it doesn't draw aggro, it's a spell.

Sure it prevents aoe on-hit effects, but it also lets Yasuo ignore his own counters;

Shen can just position himself for it to get blocked. Both parties know what will happen.

I'm a bit confused about the bold bit, because the first and last part of it don't make sense together. How does having another target between him and the person let him score game-winning knockups? Just watch Yasuo's face. He will usually shoot the tornado in that same direction, since that's where the player last clicked.

As an aside:

Opponents need to learn Yasuo's threat range and his cds. He's not impervious to everything and he does have many weaknesses.

The fastest way to learn those weaknesses would be to play Yasuo for a few games when he hits free week. I promise his weaknesses will become a lot easier to see while fighting vs. him afterwards.

It legit states in applies on-hits to the first enemy hit. Any after and it's not counted as an AA.

You mean abilities that say that they're treated as an auto attack should just consistently be treated as an auto attack?
