Windows 10 App Notification Crashes League Client
Thankfully it was only a co-op vs AI game ;)
Anyways, I had a few office applications open in the background (was reviewing something) and for some brilliant reason Windows 10 decides to give me a notification saying that if I close the extra apps I may get better performance (like seriously, interrupt the live game I'm playing to tell me it could get better? How dumb are these people...).
So anyways, the result was disastrous. The windows notification interrupting the League of Legends window is awful (as in any PvP game you'll be dead in a heartbeat, I was attacking an inhibitor turret so I no doubt died), but I think that's windows fault and not Leagues (windows sets it to override everything I think - stupid windows).
The "league" problem is the aftermath. In the past whenever something like this happened, League was minimized and I would deal with the notification then open League and be back in my game. This time? For some reason League left a black screen on the upper-left 3/4 of my monitor which blocked everything. I couldn't reopen my game. I couldn't open a new game of League because the black screen covered all of my icons. I couldn't force close league. I couldn't access task manager because it opened under the black screen. I couldn't alt-f4 because for some reason an orange border went around the league icon (probably league trying to ask me if I was sure I wanted to quit but being blocked by the black screen).
Forget how I finally managed to close League entirely and start it up again, but regardless, League's functionality when it gets shut down is abysmal. There's no reason for League to ask if I'm sure I want to disconnect. The ONLY reason I'm disconnecting from a game is because I need to reload it because something is wrong. If that something conflicts with the disconnect confirmation, I can't disconnect and reconnect properly. That's really counterproductive. I think Riot needs to really do a better job of either sensing problems on our end, or allowing us to shut down league and start it back up.
On a side note - does anyone know how to disable all notifications on Windows 10? I've gone to notifications and settings but there are some apps on the bottom that I'm not allowed to disable notifications for...
