Darius's crippling strike slow still applying through Jax's counterstrike

I haven't been able to recreate it but it's happened a few times I've played vs Darius as Jax, but the damage won't go through but the slow still applies. I do understand dodge tends to be buggy still with some of the on-hit cc spells.
