Tristana auto-attack cancelation bug

I played Tristana recently and I noticed that if I moved before the attack (the cannonball) reached the enemy it would cancel the auto-attack sometimes.

Is this intended function? It felt a little confusing and frustrating to miss cs and lose trades because I couldn't Orbwalk effectively.

This occurs with many ranged champions, being mostly prevalent with adc, but i don't think it's a bug. It is really annoying sometimes though
