Hybrid Penetration Marks on Braum / Volibear?

Hello, I was thinking of making separate rune pages for champs that I play all the time, like Braum Braum and Volibear Volibear , but I'm getting mixed advice for the marks.

In theory, Hybrid Pen. Marks on Volibear would benefit his ult and E while also helping his basic attacks, but that's a lot of IP and I want to be sure it's correct. I'd rather not get AS marks because I usually rush an AS item and his Frenzy pretty much compensates for earlygame AS, and straight Armor Pen is what I have right now, but I'm finding his ult damage a little underwhelming.

As for Braum, right now I just have Armor marks (and Health seals) but I'd like to deal more damage and be more that just a tank. I also think that his earlygame Q could catch them off guard with extra burst from Hybrid Pens. I don't like the idea of straight Magic Pen because I like to get in the battle and basic attack them, and my attacks right now seem completely negligible. Again, I want to be sure that Hybrid Pen. marks are a good idea because 9,000 IP is a hefty expense.

I play both of these offtank, and some more damage with Hybrid Pen. marks sounds like a good idea.

Good theory crafting, but it probably won't work.

Volibear is still generally AD, he builds up AA stacks for his nomnom making mpen useless.

Braum serves as a support, if he was jungle or top i'd see this happening. On a support braum, no.

Hybrid pen marks are really good for poke supports Nami Janna Annie etc

For tanky supports like Braum Volibear Leona I would use armor marks

really have to decide whether u play voli as a tank or damage dealer, yes he can do both but i think u wanna optimize one over the other. get hybrid for damage and if not worry about tankyness if ur team needs one.

braum is just straight support utility wall his first auto is to get his passive off, adc takes care of rest he needs all the health

that being said buying hybrids arnt bad they work on alot of other champs, they arnt bad investments compared to like gold per 5 quints TROLOLOL

Yeah you've convinced me with Braum, but question for Volibear: Does magic pen affect item damage? I love both item 3091 Wit's End and item 3068 Sunfire Cape on Volibear, and often find myself getting them before anything else (except boots of course) so while attacking with both of those and some Magic Pen, wouldn't that make them do more damage? Because that is a lot of earlygame magic damage for a toplaner who most likely has scaling MR runes. When playing Voli I usually get Wit's End and build full tank from there.
