Working on my Sion builds...
Hello all;
I'm currently working on/seeking help for my Sion builds for Jungle/Top and was hoping for a little help. A lot of the guides I've found are not updated for patch 5.8 so I'm not 100% sure about the best items for him but I'm hoping to stray away from the common build paths into something surprising yet still effective. It is because of this goal that I'm inviting the community to help me and I'm looking forward to any advice, criticisms, feedback, ideas, recommendations or suggestions you may have.
Currently I'm level 21 but hope to eventually be 9/21/0 or 0/21/9, the builds looking something like the attached image. Green slashes represent the masteries I would take if I chose utility depending on if I were laning or jungling while the red represent the masteries I would take if I dumped the extra 9 points into offense while laning. The lane utilities were picked thinking I'd be backing more often than I would jungling as I used
to ward while the jungle set of utility masteries were picked with the thought I'd be buying a
and using
and other summoner spells more often often.
Afterthought about the above: I would consider taking Alchemist for Sion if laning for synergy with

As for my items and summoners, there are two different sets depending on if I'm laning or jungling...
Lane Sion:
Summoner spells:
for global pressure and mobility.
Starting items:

Core items: Start
if laning against melee A.D. casters, against champions who are diving you if you are unable to get jungler help or in easy or even match-ups and want waveclear,
against A.D. Marksmen or auto-attack assassins,
against champions who are diving you to trigger active and "Oppression" to reduce damage/slow them for your jungler and
against A.P. laners.
Situational Items:
and
with Distortion against high A.P. and/or C.C. teams,
if roaming or splitting often/against low cc & balanced damage teams,
if enemy team is turret camping due to synergy with ult,
and
with Distortion against teams with two or more auto-attackers,
or
if fed against A.P. or C.C. heavy teams.
Jungle Sion:
Summoner Spells:
if staying with team or
for baiting/splitting.
Starting Items:

for camp clear/general tankiness, later building
to apply C.C. more often in teamfights,
to trigger "Oppression" and
for synergy with situational items and and team fights.

Runes: I currently lack the money to build specialized rune pages and am currently using "basic" A.D./A.P. pages with flat stats.

jungling especially because it will help you when you get to ranked. I am a jungle main in bronze and sweeper is really helpful because it denies the enimies vision and you have more map control. Just buy

. This itemization is made for the jungle so don't take this for in lane. You can take these items if you want in lane but I would recommend those in jg so your team has lots of map control. If your support is not building right items, use these items in lane for sure. I hope this helps!
