I have a really big problem laning against Malz, I wanna play aggressive however I feel like I'll just screw myself over by getting ulted and dying instantly to him. Any tips on when are good times to play aggressive against him and champions that are considered bad matchups for hm?
malzahar has no escape abilities, unless you count his silence, tell your jungle to gank him early.
Basically any melees are bad matchups against him because they need to get in range of his abilities to farm and if they go to burst him he can ult and stop it completely. If you are stuck in a bad matchup then just do your best to farm and ask your jungler for help since malz will be constantly pushing the lane.
Some good picks against malz are champs like Lux who can outrange him and shield herself from his visions, galio who can stack MR and use his bulwark to counter his visions, or the ever so satisfying GP who can just cleanse malz ult with his heal.
malz has long cd's wait for him to e the wave, and try and q the wave or you. if you dodge that he is missing most of his damage. kill him.
3 out of 4 of his abilities apply debuffs. QSS will not only add some MR but also that active.
pretty much crap all over him.
His abilities hit hard, but they are pretty easy to avoid. Make sure you build QSS or hourglass once he has his ult.
