Is Will of Ancients or Hextech Gunblade good on Diana?

Kaelnor··1 votes·1,181 views

Hey guns. I am wondering if Diana would make any good use of item 3146or item 3152 . Yeah more AP is seriously more important and items like item 3285 item 3089 and item 3157 are extremely useful, even necessary, but I ask this because Diana in her nature is an All-In champ that's melee oriented, and is in more risk to take a lot of damage in certain scenarios. Would the 20% spellvamp do any justice in her case and benefit from the damage based heals to keep her in the fight or not? It seems like it from what I tested but I don't know if it would be worth it. Anyone?

As a Diana main, I say not just because the slots used for an item like that are better useful for others, and the spell vamp would only work on her ult. Here's a tip: save item 3152 and item 3146 and other spell vamp items for champions that actually have SP passives (Morgana Akali Nasus). For example, I take Morgana mid, with 5% SV in my masteries, and my 10% SV passive. I rush item 3152, then go for item 3146, and a item 3065 if they have a lot of MR, combined with her passive uping to 20% late game, I am running over %60 SV in the game, and is quite fun, as you can heal a ton with your Q and your soiled ground come late game.

I would say they arent cost efficient on Diana. I would rather get zhonyas, deathcap, void, abyssal, boots, and either luden's or one more tank item such as GA.

You can always build w/e u want in a norm tho and if you happen to like it. then who cares what others say? have fun :D

Thanks for the reply and imput. I guess straight AP or defense stats is far better to build for Diana. One thing though... I was testing out item 3003 on Diana and dear lord... it is AMAZING on her. She can basically spam spam and get massive AP just from that one item. The base max mana increase +1000 mana once you get item 3040 adds up to 120 AP on Diana, then another 80+14 from slapping on and getting max stacks on item 3027 then gives 214 AP. That's a Double item 3116 but with more stuff added. Then you have item 3089 and item 3157 too. So much AP, like nearly 700+ without the final build, which is easy to get with a item 3135

Oh it is fun, and scales great into the mid-late game scene.

One thing I ask, is by taking ROA second which can take a long time to use effectively, is it worth it to wait that long to buy? If I go ROA on Diana I usually buy it first so I can get the power spike early before mid to late game, but I tend to deviate to my main build of item 3100 item 3089 item 3285 item 3157 item 3116 item 3259 (tends to change depending on games).

It actually depends on the match up. If you're not getting much lane pressure, and are winning then item 3003 is bought first. It gives more mana capacity the more you cast, and then becomes item 3040 which then gives you tons of mana to spam with, and a lot of AP. It's really cost effective, and allows for stronger, and more frequent harass. Then after your choice of boots, you get item 3027. Yes it's a slow build up as it's one stack/minute, but remember... You're getting more AP when you increase your mana capacity, and ROA does that while giving you more health too, and more AP, and it also restores it every time you level up. This allows for more building up on offense and defense while the battle goes on and you're alive.

However if you are getting alot of JG and/or Lane pressure then yes ![item 3027](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3027.png) is best first. You'll need that extra health and mana to be able to push back or sustain your lane presence while you wait for a gank or so forth. Then boots then ![item 3003](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3003.png) comes after. It still works either way though, and honestly I find ![item 3040](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3040.png) + ![item 3027](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3027.png) far better than ![item 3285](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3285.png) + ![item 3116](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3116.png). I can get roughly equal amounts of AP for less gold, but with more health, far more mana to spam with, a heal every level, more ease of building, and get more sustain with ![item 3040](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3040.png) 's active all at once.

It's overall much more beneficial to what ![Diana](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/champion/Diana.png) truly is... an All-in AP Bruiser. Plus I can still build ![item 3116](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3116.png) +![item 3285](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3285.png) for more aggression and killing potential , or ![item 3157](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3157.png) + ![item 3089](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3089.png) for more overall damage and defense, or even other crazy combos to build into for say like CDR+AP, or things like that.

Basically with ![item 3027](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3027.png) with 10 Stacks and a ![item 3040](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.21.1/img/item/3040.png) I get this :

 214+ Ability Power
 1650+ Maximum Mana
 650+ Health
Active : Shields my champion for 150 + amount = equal to 20% of the mana I consumed for it
Healing and mana restoration every time I level up.
Flexible builds since I basically get both my offense and defense prowess boosted at the same time.

I see. I will have to try that, as I never really thought it would work on Diana. Thanks :)

Welcome and it's actually quite refreshing to use too. It even allows you to harass and poke with your Q often in team fights and whittle down opponents so your tanks can go in easier. Not to mention that extra sustain makes all-ins much more efficient than a lot of people even know it would.

Diana's dmg is AOE, you will get ok healing only from your ultimate. Zhonya (Diana and Ekko can initiate with this) and Abyssal (don't get this vs full AD team) are her core items. The rest is situational. Lichbane is great, if you have to assasinate the ADC. She can be also the tank, if you need one - ROA + FH+ BORK (if fed) + 2 situational (Randuins and Spirit visage???)

The general rule is to buy sustain on damage stream champions. Diana is a quick assassin. For her it is pretty much about just maximizing damage output or in some cases survival.

Ahh makes sense. Plus I tested SpellVamp items on her in custom games and in Co-Op vs AI Games. It doesn't much for her at all.
