Smart way to climb, or not?

I was playing with a diamond player earlier and he asked me to be his duo partner. He's d5 and Im about to be p5 (Right now Im in g1 series). I figure duoq'ing with him will cause me to lose less lp per loss, and gain way more lp per win (if the average rank in the game is like p1-d4). Ill gain MMR slower because its duoq, but I should technically climb faster just because of the amount of LP per win? Just posting this to be corrected if I'm wrong. Also if anyone knows the maximum LP gain?

No, terrible idea. Duo queuing, in all regular circumstances, is an absolutely awful idea.

All but always, what you end up doing is throwing off the MMR matching and putting your own team in a terrible position by forcing them, and likely yourself as well, into unfavorable match-ups playing against opponents who you are not expected to be able to defeat normally because you are being matched with opponents with higher MMR, ranking, whatever due to the matchmaking because you are duoing.

idek how it works anymore my d1 buddy was smurfing on his gold 3 acct, i played with him from plat 5 to d5 was pretty easy won like 10 games in a row. He did have plat 2-3 mmr though but it was really no problem if you both are good and can carry. Honestly depends on how good you are and your duo .
