Can someone explain this?

So, this game was in the showcase, and I saw the name "Ban Nidalee" so i was just curious what their win rate was, but I went on op.gg and Nidalees team was full of diamond/master/challenger players and the entire other team were all under level 30?
As you can see in the screenshot, its looking pretty rough for the under 30's team...

So, to solve my confusion....

Why was this game in the showcase?
How did these 2 teams even get matched against each other... Like 3 diamond players, a master and a challenger against a couple level 20s? Matchmaking might be a tad broken....

You're telling me when you were new to the game you never build weird stuff? When I was new I would build multiple boots because I assumed it would make me move faster. Granted they are 20+ according to OP, but still.

Seen a lee sin build 6 faerie charms. Must be going for the regen.

LOL SAME, i started playing garen and my friend told me that health regen was the key. So im like ok if i buy 8 health beads + my passive then im unkillable..

HOW THE FUCK?! did the matchmaking system managed to smell out the smurfs and trolls?

If this is the new Lyte super-bot and he really can smell out trolls and bots etc so easily; why are this accounts active? Trolls or not this guys should not be matched by the system with those guys.

There is no viable reason for this match up to be made by the system, which is why I believe it** was not matched automaticly**, but it is most probably a custom game.

If it turns out Im wrong i swear ill leave out my league days just on IP.

Annie was definitely a smurf, look at her name. I doubt anyone would buy a name change before 30.

Not the point. Still level 20 against challenger players. Guarantee there was at least a 2000 gap in their mmr lol

It was normals with premade 5's. Since they only play ranked their normal mmr is probably low or just at the basic level. mix that with the fact that it was trying to match them with another premade 5 and you get weird situations like this.

This is happening since years, and yet nothing has been done... Its not the 1st post that talk about this! When u are lower than 30 and is matched against lvl30, just report them, maybe Riot will do something!

However the real solutions are so easy, too easy and obvious i guess... : DO NOT ALLOW LV30 TO PLAY AGAINST OR WITH PLAYERS LOWER THAN 30! AND, BRONZE/SILVER/GOLD PLAYERS SHOULD NOT PLAY AGAINST DIAMOND/MASTER/CHALLENGER ( this rules is applied for ranked but not the other games mode... then everyone ask why is there toxic players???

the lvl30 are more experimented than the lvl 10-29, then its a free win for the team with a lv30
the team without lvl30 will ALWAYS LOSE with HUGE amount of deaths, **how the losing team can't be toxic after such humiliation ? lol. Just check that sreenshot and the item build... THEY DONT WANT TO PLAY AGAINST LVL30 WHEN THEY ARE LV20 **
the battle is unbalanced BEFORE IT START (runes & masteries are better at lv30)
2 bronze, 1 silver and 2 gold, how are they suppose to win against 1 bronze, 2 silvers and 2 diamonds? Everytime i see those matchup, the team with the diamonds+ wins

Until they apply the solutions, just report all the lvl30 if u catch 1 in the enemy team and you are lower than 30. And if you are lvl 30 and your team (with player between bronze and gold) play against a team with a diamond, master or challenger, report this diamond/master/challenger.

Why report them? because its a form of harassment!

This happens to me everytime... I almost always play with the same friends because its funnier to play with friends than alone.

So we are some silvers, a bronze and a gold 4/5 and always get matched with 3 golds and the two others are platinum/diamond players... we used to have fun but now we just tryhard to try to win games because we lose every single one of them item 3070 Amumu

Even if we dont play with our gold ranked friend we still get match with platinums.. rly sucks because we don't have fun anymore :/

Seriously we're thinking of going to ranked team instead of playing normals. Riot really need to fix this not onl for ranked :O

Honestly probably a 4-5 man team. Matchmaking gets worse the more people you throw into the loop.

Might have been teambuilder or blind 5s, so it just matched a 5 man versus a 5 man without regard for ranking?

Just a guess. Sucks for the 20s though. :/

Probably two 5-man premades, and the high-rank ones only play ranked or something.

Yeah, they are certainly not just losing because of rank difference, that Garen and Brand are trying to lose.

Look at the MMR at op.gg.

If you look at the team with <Level 30s, their normal game wins are still around 1800-2100 MMR. Youre talking about Plat/Diamonds

I think "ban nidalee" used to be on my friends list and I believe I played with him once as an unranked 30, and the other team was all full of people under level 26... Idk riots matchmaking is broken.

Or they purposely threw a bunch of games to get their MMR really low then they climbed their MMR back up. then rinced and repeated.

I have made 2 new accounts after hitting diamond on my main to practice other roles. My late game adc positioning really is horrendous.

I don't know what normal match making is like for non smurfs, but my queue was generally in the 18-20+ minute range for each game as I have to assume there was just no one near my hidden elo match making rating on the smurf account. The net it casts is so large after 20 minutes that I've had more than a few games like the op listed.

I totally agree. the way they matchmake seems to devalidate wins or losses. almost seems like luck has a larger factor in winning a match then skill. I main support and i tell you it has become quite a skill carrying these lvl 20 adc's rito keeps pairing me with. I can see how good an adc is just by the way they farm. You almost have to judge how you engage or not engage based on how bad your adc looks farming... sucks. wish they could make it a little more fair.
