Not destroying bot turret

Under what specific circumstances would one want to not destroy the enemy's bot lane turret? I sometimes have adcs who ping me away from it, I would think that the global gold would outweigh the denial of cs?

If you're winning your lane and your allies don't need any help, you can just force the enemy to stay in lane with you and continue to feed off them, then when you do inevitably get the tower you can group up and win teamfights with ease.

Depends.

To be fair, it keeps your lane opponents in lane and keeps you from overextending too easily.

I would take it ASAP if top lane is struggling, tho. Guy can use any edge he (or she!) can get.

I played Teemo into Nasus top lane one game (lol rip Nasus) and I specifically asked my jungler after one gank when I backed not to hit the turret so that I could extend the laning phase to continue building a lead and to avoid giving Nasus a freezable lane where he can just afk farm until he's huge.

I know it's different for top lane from bot lane since getting bot lane tower gives dragon pressure; but, if you are planning on roaming and your lane opponent is a hyper carry that loves having a free lane to AFK farm, I wouldn't take the tower right away. Otherwise, there is no reason not to take the tower when you can in bot lane.

If your lanes are winning you can keep the laning phase going and continue growing the lead. If your mid is losing its probably a good idea to down your turret then go take mid.

Pretty much what everyone else said, there is only two reasons to not take it: A) Denial of CS which is actually a big set back depending on how much CS they lose and B) To prolong laning phase to extend your lead.

In situation A you usually want to do this anyways before destroying it, every CS you deny them is a plus for you. In situation B its a good idea to do this to get fed before teamfights happen, this way everyone is a lot stronger around that time. Only works if your team is doing good though, i wouldn't recommend doing it for too long though specially bot lane, destroying Bot turret gives you Dragon control and Top turret gives you Baron control.

In most cases it is the safer option to take the bot lane turret and begin roaming. The only time I can think otherwise is because you want to prolong a game because of someone like Kogmaw and the rest of your team is facing no threats.
