Aatrox is pretty much dead

He's like draven in the sense you get ahead and snowball but if you don't, unlike draven you become useless. If the game hits past Mid-game he becomes unrewarding.

This is made worse by the fact to snowball isn't easy with Aatrox, it takes a lot of skill that can only be found in diamond+ Compared to other champions, Aatrox's Risk vs Reward is pretty much 10 to 1. The odds are against you, but he's still playable. He just needs a lot rework because a single buff could make him crazy op despite how weak he is currently.

Aatrox is pretty much useless if he doesn't get a significant lead in early laning. If he does, he will snowball into a monster capable of solo carrying the game, but if he doesn't his primary use is as a dark gargoyle-like decoration for his team's base. His binary kit basically means that he has to be kept weak to avoid becoming a major problem.

I say this from my experience playing against Aatrox, since I have never played him myself. The main lesson I have learned is that if you don't let him kill you pre-six, you've basically won the lane and invalidated his existence. I would like it if they replaced his current ultimate with something like old Sion's ultimate, since it would fit his lore and make his power a little more team-dependent, giving him a way to be useful when behind as well as a way to slightly reign in his power when he is ahead.
