hey guys i just wanted to start off by saying that season 3 is when i started and i was bronze ofc then season 4 came and i just barely made it to sliver 5 and now season 5 only a couple months in and im gold :D im super excited and nervous im ganna demote ik this is ganna sound super scrubby but is there something i should be doing in gold 5? should i play the champs that are most played in that league or should i stick to my gragas and sion champions i think i only have 1 loss on gragas and 3 on sion

First off, This seems like an improvement for you (I honestly have never ended a season below gold 5) but you should stick to champions you are good with, don't just switch to flavor of the months

to drop back to silver you have to lose a lot of games, basically your elo has to be silver 5. Expanded your champ pool if anything.

congratulations. its a long climb to plat. gold 5 to gold 2 isn't too bad. Then you get into high gold hell. You'll see what I mean when you get there.

If you've improved to gold level you'll be fine. You have to be a full tier below on your mmr before you become eligible to be dropped. If you just want end of year rewards then you can screw around and play whatever and you probably won't drop below mid silver (just use something like op.gg, carry.gg, or lolking.net to check on the level of players you are being matched against/with), and if you get down like low silver where you're getting silver 4s in your matches, then you can go all try hard for a bit and bring your mmr up to silver 1 or silver 2 again and be fine.

Just play your best champs man besides both those champs are pretty good right now.

I also just hit gold for the first time this season so congratulations fellow ladder climber. For some advice I will say that gold is a bit more challenging than silver was, but in the end it is still the same game.
