That actually doesn't make sense. Even if everything could be played by a vegetable, that still wouldn't put everyone in the same elo. Skill with a champ is only a single part of playing League.

Now that that's out of the way, still not quite correct. Some really are harder to play than others, and some reward mastery of the champion more or less than others (Azir is a great example).

You do have a point in there somewhere, though; you can't blame a champion for your Rank.

There's a reason why you yourself is still in low elo: champion mechanics are maybe 30% of what it takes to play league.

I agree coming from a Garen main... Very frustrating to beat most impossible matches to only be demeaned because I am playing a "No-Skill" champion.

The only time I say you should ever say your champion take an ounce of skill if you play champions that rely on very reactive, and pre-thought out steps to win. (EX. Lee-Sin, Azir) And maybe one or two others I can't think of. But most champions are pretty much simple to play, but take a bit of skill to make their kits really shine.

What you're referring to is the difference between "skill floor" and "Skill cap". Skill floor is how much skill and ability it takes to make a champion work. Someone like Garen has virtually no skill floor at all, and is immensely easy to make work (not trying to offend, we know this is true), while someone like azir has an incredibly high skill floor, and we've all seen azirs derp through a whole game, accomplishing nothing.

That said, here's also skill cap. Skill cap is the maximum potential of a champion when played by someone who has mastered their mechanics. Garen is an example of someone with a fairly low skill cap, THOUGH that cap is well above the floor, like with all champs.

I agree, I do believe Garen is a very simple champion to pick up and get good with, while Azir takes alot more know how, and reaction. (Like I stated) But then it comes down to. Alteast for me, is if that person can play their role in the current team correctly. You can be a terrible Azir, but if you can shove towers all day, and land a couple gold ults to keep the backline in one piece.

For one, yeah every champion takes at least a modicum of skill, but they don't all take the same amount. Some are more difficult Azir Cassiopeia and some are easier Annie Garen. But also bear in mind some champions aren't meant to be fighting 1v1. Some, like Leona are generally (not always) played as meat-shields. So a damage dealer will probably beat them 1v1 unless they're fed. The champ used actually does matter. Put a bad Garen vs a bad Azir and watch how that turns out. Believe me, it's not going to be a draw. Not to mention champion skill isn't the only thing that determines elo. There's cs, decision making, teamwork, etc.
