why is everyone bitching about ekko?

RyzeRework··11 votes·1,934 views

everyone complaining about him for no reason truth is hes an assassian with burst tools he can kill tanks but so can yi fizz hell even fiora destroys tanks he prolly has less mobility and safety then lb and zed prolly has the least amount of burst for an assassian i bet even akalis early game is stronger then his lol ekko isnt op stop saying it just cause ur bad lol he can ult 4 seconds from where he was you can see where hes going if you cant avoid the aoe burst which is in all honestly pretty hard to hit and if it takes you more then 4 seconds to kill him then well your weak and shouldnt be 1v1ing him anyway

I genuinely have to ask how people are getting hit by his ult (mostly in the laning phase, unless you're chasing him then its understandable)

I say this because its telegraphed four seconds in advance, which means you need to be standing where Ekko was 4 seconds ago (which is visible to you via his time-clone), it would certainly depend on the matchup but it confounds me how Ekko would even get anywhere close to you without eating significant amounts of poke.

TL;DR: I can't understand how people get hit by his ult (mostly in the laning phase), when its as simple as avoiding the time-clone, which exists 4 seconds in the past. Unlike alot of ults which can vary in use, Ekko literally can't use his ult to hurt you, unless you go near his clone (which is completely within your control)

Edit: on a side note, wouldn't he suffer from the issue Talon has, where he can get in easily (dash in and then teleport onto you) but can't get out easily? (Bear in mind most problem assassins have a way in AND a way out incase things turn bad, Zed has his second shadow; LeBlanc can teleport back to her glyph, Kassadin has riftwalk, etc; Ekko has none of that, he has to walk away with a short speed boost, thats just asking to get CC'd at point blank range the moment he engages)

In a teamfight, a lot can happen. So, it's also understandable why you would get hit by his ult. The fact that it ALSO has the utility of a teleport to your point of recall is pretty strong.

Yeah I should've elaborated (will probably do so after this post) I was mostly referring to the laning phase, since thats where assassin's usually become make or break. Ekko's cost on his Q is too high for him to reliably spam it for farming (without blue anyway), and he lacks a shield like Diana's without using his highly telegraphed W.

It seems like he'd again be like Talon and just have a terrible laning phase, only it'd be even harder for Ekko to snowball since his things are all so telegraphed.

His Q is approximately as telegraphed as Ori's or Ziggs's. It also gives good waveclear. I wouldn't call him anywhere near helpless in lane.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not calling him helpless, his Q has a pretty high cost though (it would be like Talon trying to spam rake to farm; he can do it, but he runs out of mana quickly)

I just think Ekko is going to be one of those people who has SO much counterplay, that it hurts his consistency in the end.

I could end up being completely wrong and he'll end up ridiculously overpowered, but I suppose time will tell. When I said his "things" were telegraphed by the way, I was mostly referring to his W and R, not Q, W takes 3 seconds to activate, in which time the enemy has likely walked back under their turret (making diving without an escape somewhat risky).

And R is well, R, 4 second delay with a telegraphed location and all that jazz.

Hue. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I've already seen Ekko's build bruiser top and pretty much control the lane because any attempt to trade with him results in you being forced to run for your life r be stunned and likely killed due to his passive.

I think this champions going to see more play top then mid.

3 ways I've landed his ulti in lane phase

Recall next to turret, enemy comes for farm and doesn't expect you to R return, they also don't always see it right away. (same goes using bushes)

Duel, Ekko does not duel very well, but if you don't kill him in 4 seconds guess what :D Same goes for if you fight without moving much. If you enemy EVER engages on you, you can land it.

Zone. Place a stun in front of them, dash behind them and land Q. They have limited options for escape, chances are they have to walk through one of you zoning skills. (about 50/50, 75/25 if you used terrain or minion waves to your advantage)

Bonus, land your stun LOL that's different because it's harder to land than the ulti, but if he's stunned you, good chance he's ulti u too :)

And like you mentioned, if you're chasing him, but that's your greed, not his OP :P

I see people complaining about his shield. The thing that has a 3 sec set up time and lasts shorter than the stun it is attacked to.

Cause he has immunity that makes team blow there spells on him, then he has annoying CC, and Impossible to kill blinking/dashing every where. Give LB immunity and a stun and you got ekko.

Best Darius KR6 votes

Only LB's spell doesn't have a 120 second cooldown

Svddenly1 votes

Neither does Ekko's...

RyzeRework1 votes

lb has a 20 sec cd on her ult or something ridiculous like that she can almost kill 1 person every 20 seconds at least ekko has like 80 second base start to his ult or something like that lol do le math

Svddenly1 votes

Yeah I know. Ekko's ult has 110/90/70 second cd. I was just being an ass cause the guy said 120 second cd.

fizz has a 5 second cd on his troll poll blocks all damange with insane burst and tank busting kit zed has immunity when he goes in ult as well you cant hit what u cant see which is akali for you and why lb has the potential to 1 shot almost everything does she really need more? its not my fault ur getting hit by ekkos q which are super easy to dodge lol

Gigahappytown2 votes

haha no akali without a doubt has weaker burst then ekko She has the lowest dps out of all assassins but sticks the hardest also has the weakest defensive ability.

RyzeRework2 votes

she has so much sustain she doesnt need the defensive abilities and akali also doesnt have any skill shots lol if u cant land the q then ur not ganna be doing as much i think akali is way stronger

her only abilitys that are any good are mark of the assassin and shadow dance w is outplayted by pink ward e is flat out worthless not even the 0.8 second cooldown makes it worth using. Shes practically playing with half a deck. her TTK is also the slowest out of any assassin assassins aren't mean to do deal sustained damage otherwise they are not assassins.

I don't deny that Ekko probably isn't broken but you don't need to deny that there's anything good in his kit to try and prove that.

You sound like you should be making a thread saying "Ekko is the worst champion ever" because according to you he's absolutely worthless.

RyzeRework2 votes

what im saying is that he isnt any better then any assassin he has a little bit of everything assassins have but hes not a master of any particular thing

Lord Dusteon1 votes

People complain about literally every aspect of a champion and their kit when they are just released.

You randomly guessing that he "prolly" isn't as powerful in some categories as other assassins does not help.

so what makes him stronger then any other assassian

GuardDX1 votes

A lot of his power comes from prediction, which also makes his moves predictable.

Just my two cents, he does have some ridiculous scalings though.

i forgot where the punctuation on my keyboard is but I think it's important to post this message anyway while i agree that ekko is probably being overhyped he is still very strongly tuned from a base kit standpoint and his ratios are also pretty strong so its valid to say he seems strong but numbers are probably the only thing that will definitively give proof one way or the other

okay thanks for reading bye

im not saying hes weak or anything my point is he isnt stronger then any other assassian everyones just like OMG EKKO SO OP HE CAN KILL SO FAST AND HAVE A SAFE ULT but my point is that most assassians have wayyy more burst and are safer like ive said before lb she is prolly the safest assassia she can just qrw kill somone and w back no problem stuff like that people act like ekko is the god of gods and is so broken when there are far stronger chars

Jungle Lux God1 votes

It's the first day he is out.

It's too early to say he is good or bad, because no one knows how to play as him or against him.

Eventually, once players learn how to play as and against him, we will have an accurate representation of how strong or weak he is, but after the first day we can only make early assumptions that may or may not be the truth in gameplay.

Only Play Darius1 votes

Have you seen the size of his shield?

Not to mention the 2 second AOE stun. This is why assassins can't have utility.

RyzeRework1 votes

did u see how hard it is to hit the stun and how easy it is to move out of the stun?

MrMcBeefy11 votes

I was playing ekko his ult needs a serious downgrade, i max the damage on his ult it was 1583.

RyzeRework1 votes

yeah but ekko shouldnt be hitting his ults there really hard to hit lol if u get hit by an ekko ult u deseve to be bursted down

Gwellaouen1 votes

Ekko seems a champion really fun, hard to play and a really dangerous assassin like all of them. Maybe a little to tough but every new champions are like that. Someone went Ekko yesterday on my team and got 57 kills. I didn't think that was even possible. XD With the addition of my 14 kills as Lucian maybe the enemy team was outplayed that's all.

Only thing: We lost. They got an Ekko too (who was also pretty good) and we were not fighting as a team. Jumping in them 1 v 3 or even more. Bad. XDDD So even if you have a new champion doing 57 kills, teamwork stills probably OP.

I really want to play him but I will wait because I am sure that he will be nerfed a little. I will play him on his free week after the first patch post-Ekko.
