How the hell do you beat darius in lane?

I lose literally every single game I'm laning against a darius in. Nothing I play outdamages him. He forces me to fight him, and I can barely hug tower because of his pull. He rushes sunfire cape and outdamages me even with no damage items. How do I beat darius? I cant take this any longer.

Pick Kayle and twerk on his grave. No seriously, she is a big counter. She heals his passive, she uses Q's slow to kite him and her E has the same range as his pull, but since you have a slow, you can kite him 4 days. And if you do get low enough to get dunked, you have your ulti. Late game you outscale him massively.

Jungle pressure or range. Otherwise farm as safe as you can and outscale him.

I know how you feel. I've practically turned into a turtle when playing against him. Kind of literally in-game.

If they pick Darius first, and I'm top lane:

I pick Udyr, max Turtle stance first, take regen runes and build Warmog's first. Between Turtle stance, the regen runes, the two regeneration beads(bought at start of the game), a crystalline flask(usually first back) and a bunch of health/mana potions... I can outlive his damage over time. 25-30mins into the game I'm too tanky for him to kill, so I can harass him back! :D

Your jungler should camp your lane. Darius has absolutely 0 mobility. He needs to fight or die.

You can use Pantheon, Kayle, Renekton, Jayce and to an extent Teemo -- all counter him.

But the universal way to make him useless or get yourself / jg fed is to simply camp him.

Walk up to him. Back off. Walk a lil further. Back off. This time walk only a lil bit then back off. Farm while you do this. Ward while you do this. Harass him (ranged) while you do this. If he uses hi q and he misses, it's on cooldown, harass him for a bit back off. Same with his pull , if it's on cooldown , harass. Make him whiff his moves if you can. Jungler is his enemy.

Gnar always shuts me down as Top Garen. Darius is like a suped up Garen therefore pick Gnar.

You need to deal more damage than him because his kit has no escape. Try Jax, you can beat him before 6 easily, mid game is kinda hard when he has one defensive item and ult but you beat him lategame anyway. Generally when facing Darius you need to engage in short bursts and going for the kill only when you have a clear advantage. Don't stay in battle too long as his passive hurts and gives him more damage with ult. However he is predictable and can be beaten even when the matchup is not favorable.

I can only pull it off with Riven. Stay back wait for him to miss his twirl, go ham with your Q, stun him, dash out before he can pull you. Rinse and repeat. He has mana, riven doesn't.

He's a lane bully.

Your best bet, I believe, is to either play a better scaling champion or a champion with better teamfighting. Don't lose lane early to mid game, but don't expect to win it against a lane bully. Depending on which kind of champion you chose, you're then free to either win your lane once you get rolling, or help your team achieve objectives (save TP for defending top if Darius splitpushes, and/or grab homeguards) and then the game.

Darius, since he is a lane bully, can and will out-damage you early and mid game. It's what he does, it's his design. Sometimes winning lane is not the only way to win the game (let's be honest here, if you're Vayne against Graves all you have to do is not die. If you can manage that, two-three items and you'll be making him your bitch).

Gnar and stop using Garen

Gnar is a good pick, because he can get CS from afar, and, as long as you don't feed your ass off, you will be more important in the late game. One fun thing to do is, if you haven't taken a lot of damage when you become Mega, you can actually 1v1 him pretty easily if you use your ERWQ combo correctly. You can actually exit the laning phase with more kills against a lane bully.
