Tips & Tricks: Miss Fortune...

Hello all,

Can somebody explain how Miss Fortune's kit works to me? I've looked at her champion page/section of the wikia, her Champion Spotlight vid along with a bit of gameplay footage only to walk away with less knowledge than I was seeking. I'd be thankful for anything from various T&T ( tips & ticks ) to a breakdown how how certain aspects of her kit work with certain items or abilities such as how her skills Make it Rain and Bullet Time work with Spell/Blade Weaving and Trinity Force/Wit's End. I'd also be interested in hearing how you ( the reader ) prioritize abilities, items, and objectives when using Miss Fortune.

My thanks in advance, Ephamenne.

Although some of her abilities scale with AP you're honestly better off going with a standard ADC build.

I usually rush IE, then onto a Bloodthirster, then Static Shiv. At this point it depends on the other team, but items I usually go with include Phantom Dancer, BoRK, occasionally a Black Cleaver and a Whisper.

Berserker's Grieves of course.

I've tried AP MF and it isn't as good as it would seem.

Though I'm bronze so you shouldn't take my word on the subject.

Eh sure why not I'll make an attempt. MF is an ADC with good dualing and poke abilities and great in teamfights, but she lacks escapes so if there are people who can jump on her she can be quite vulnerable. I usually pick her if we have another player in our team who has AOE CC such as amumu, J4, Orianna, etc.

When laning I use q as an ability to poke-> think of it as a lucian q in that it can go through minions, but it'll only hit 2 targets overall and it'll bounce to a second target. Try to position yourself accordingly, as the second bounce will always deal more damage than the first. Read the wiki for bounce priorities, and look at the ability without smartcast until you get used to it.

Ability rundown is start q, then w/e depending on the situation (usually w), then a second q or e if I haven't gotten e yet. Max q, then either w or e (w increases attack speed but not much else, e gives you a quite decent slow which tbh isn't that useful for anything but escaping)

Items usually IE first into shiv, as I like doing short trades with MF and shiv supports that. An autoattack and q can be launched in rapid succession with MF, and her Q has a tiny bit more range than her autos, but launching that pair is basically the equivalent of 2 autos in the time space of 1, and you can use that to outtrade. After those 2 (obviously boots somewhere in there as well) typically lifesteal or LW, and lifesteal depending on how much health they're stacking. MF is decent at roaming thanks to her passive as well. I like to make it a goal to get the enemy tower down as soon as possible in order to start teamfights by going mid/start seeing if we can take dragon once we hit 6.

My biggest advice when learning to play MF would be to focus on using her Q in lane properly to trade, and keeping her passive active.

I'm not sure how useful all of this will be to you as you've read up already, but I think you'll need to be a bit more specific with your questions if you want good responses. General questions don't often result in good answers ^-^

Hi! MF happens to be my favorite adc and one of my favorite champions, so I'm just gonna leave my input here.

Starting with her abilities, I always max her q first. Always. It's such great poke since the enemy adc usually farms from behind their minions. I'd advise you to not spam it on waves, though. It gets to a pretty low cooldown and you can find yourself running out of mana fast if you continue to spam abilities. I then max out her w for the attack speed boost, and her e last since it's only good for slowing down your enemy or checking bushes. I also take a point in her ultimate whenever possible.

When getting to lane I usually take her q first, though sometimes I take her w if I feel like I'm going to get into a level 1 trade. At level 1, her w can give you a good advantage over a lot of the adcs.

As for items, I usually prioritize attack damage first, armor pen second, and attack speed last. Usual build (in order): item 3031 item 3006 item 3072 item 3071 item 3046 and then either item 3087 or item 3026 .

I know some people like to build Stattik Shiv over Phantom Dancer, but I honestly think Phantom Dancer's passive is a lot better for her. It gives her some much needed mobility and works very well with her passive. I also pick The Black Cleaver over Last Whisper because it's passive works really well with her ult and helps out the team a lot more, unless your team is completely made up of AP. I sometimes do pick Last Whisper over The Black Cleaver if I feel like I need to rush armor pen and won't have enough money for TBC, but I honestly think it's a superior item.

Trinity Force is a really good item on MF, but I'd only build it as a last item if I'm absolutely wrecking the enemy team and have the extra gold for it.

When playing MF, it really depends who I'm up against as to how I play. For instance, if I'm against an Ezreal I'm going to play extremely aggressive because I know I'm going to beat him. If I'm against Draven, I'm just going to sit back and farm and try to poke at him. Also, remember that when ulting be very smart about where and when you ult. Before fighting, try not to get hit so you can keep you passive up. Her passive helps by quickly getting you into various positions for a well angled ult. And remember, her ult doesn't always have to do maximum damage to be effective. Many times have I ulted at a specific angle just to separate the enemy team for my team to take picks. Also, having a channel means you should know every bit of cc your enemy has so you can execute your ult with no interruptions.

That's all I have for now, but if I think of anything later I'll definitely add it! (Sorry if it's super long but it's like 6am and I haven't slept and lfadjflajf)

max Q W E

Build, MF is pretty cool because you can build item 3031 item 3006 and at this point most ADC's will build item 3087 or item 3046 but because MF has an attack speed steroid, you can go straight into item 3035 as a second item and have HUGE mid game power.

Basically you'll come out of lane as the strongest champ in the game. Use this opportunity to take as many towers and drags as you can. Help get your teammates rolling because eventually you'll fall off.

MF is one of the best champs at early game trades. Her Q is an auto attack reset, meaning you can get 3 attacks in by the time your enemy gets 2. and when you get W at level 2 you can bully them even more.

One thing to keep in mind is her E does almost zero damage. If someone stand in it for the full duration they'll take like 16 damage... So don't ever use it for waveclear. It takes a lot of mana and does almost no damage to minions. This is probably the biggest mistake I see noob MF's make.

I've even see people not put a point in E until there's nothing else to level up, but I still like to have at least one point in it for the slow.

I have alot in general I can discuss about MF, she's on of the adc's that I am not only moderately good with, but I also find myself growing to like her more and more. Sometimes we all have champs that we either like, or we're good with, usually not both. MF is one of those champs I have grown to both like, and realize I had a natural affinity with her that I grew from. I'm not gonna toss out a slabby column of text about her first off. I'd like to rather draw on certain specific aspects of her with more room for discourse. I'd like to touch on the AP MF thing. Personally, I am able to execute the build and perform my role as adc/apc still. It's not OMG OP ITEM BUILD PATH TO VICTORY PLS NERF RITO.

It's more like " Hey.... didn't know that was a thing. Just lost to AP MF guys lol " For me the core item on AP MF is Nashor's Tooth. Ideally you'd want a large amount of AP. Not specifically (though it grants massive bonuses to) for the scaling on her e and ult, but the bonus dmg per hit. Since she is building AP and not AD, sinking alot of AP onto a MF with Nashor's Tooth sort of mitigates this. She's putting AP to use in her basic attacks while still benefiting the scaling on her abilities.

Often times during a team fight, if I can drop my e on the enemy team real nice, I can follow up IMMEDIATELY with an ult and either get two kills or leave the enemy team blown apart for my guys to nibble up the choice bits. It has down sides, such as 1 v 1 dueling, you can sorta find yourself in a bad place if you miss your e or they aren't in a good spot for it, since your ult being down and e being down you are sorta not "full capacity" AP MF.

AD MF is full capacity wether her moves are on cd or not, that's why I like Nashor's Tooth on her. I've found deathcap and hourglass to be nice picks with the Tooth, it gives 240 AP and who doesn't like that active? Wit's End is what she wants if she needs MR (Or a banshee but) and if she needs Armor, neeeeds armor, GA has that. For AP MF I try to always take Exhaust + Ignite. Flash doesn't seem as useful as Exhaust, for the fact it buys me time , ALL THE TIME, during 1 v 1 duels to get my e back off cd. And that AP MF's e makes alot of difference. She's almost, in a long stretch, kind of like Teemo in the way his attack pattern plays out.

Auto attack oriented mage. CD reduction is vital on her. In niche cases I've put a Runnan's on AP MF, and the lolinomicon either ruins or works really well with her w's passive. I just havn't figured out which yet.

tldr: AP MF btw Nashor's Tooth
