Confused by hearing this. "Not the right time to take this turret." May I ask why this would ever be a priority? To not take a turret? So confused =(

If you take tower the enemy can freeze the lane on their side of the jungle, moving onto the enemy side of the map might just get you killed, it opens you up to jungler ganks and mid lane ganks. You have a fair distance to run if you get ganked at an inner tower. Ex/ You shove lane hard, Nasus has frozen the lane near his inner turret, every time you approach either the enemy lee sin or leblanc come hunt you down.
Denying gold/exp; when you are seriously rolling your lane to the point where they cant fight you, if you dont take the tower and freeze the lane you end up denying them more gold/exp and is in general better than the quick cash made from destroying the turret. Most used bot and top lane. Ex/ riven freezes the lane vs the enemy, if they come to farm she kills them.
Oh. Denial is better than pressure then? I usually play hyper carry or snowball creaters, might be why I don't see this much. Usually I get pushed in.
OH! What if you freeze it and your opponent becomes part of your farm (ie, you hard counter them or are more skilled), so much a part that their gold value decreases to 15 (happened to me, apparently Kalista murders Jinx)?
Is there a good time or indication to take a tower? I usually ping for dragon if we make bot lane back by either death or simply too low hp. I just want to become a better player, any diamond level tips will help. Been kinda terrified of rank since my promos into ranked itself put me into silver 3 where I promptly got mowed down to silver 4.
dragon>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>bot lane first tier tower
YOU ARE THE REASON I HATE SUPPORTING. here's how it goes. take mid turret always. if you're stomping the top laner because they're a late game champ, dont even attack the tower, just farm the minions behind it if they arent around. if you're an adc and you kill the enemy, attack the tower a little but let it kill the minions. when the enemy minions come, kill them instead of the tower because the tower is denying farm. for the adc, farm/lane dominance should be top priority. if you kill the first tower, the enemy can free-farm because you cant safely push them away from their second-tier tower (your ass will get ganked.) it's better to just get way more farm and push your advantage (except in mid, you want to open the map up because if you take their first tower, your team has more room to counterjungle and teamfight)
I'm asking all of this because I am just starting the adc role. I jungle pressure mostly. I focus on getting my lanes ahead, not tower taking. I also top lane pressure. Last thing I care about is K/D/A, and people tell me that is all ADC's care for. I'm sorry you hate supporting ADC's that just started doing it. I really am. To the rest of what you said:
I usually do make sure Mid pushes first, especially if I get the other bot laners to back. But if Mid is pubstomping, I focus on my lane. That makes sense for the farming under their turret, never thought of that o.O. Pretty ingenious. If I go to gank bot because they froze lane, I make sure to ping for my jungler and wait on them to come. If most enemy team is Mia, I ping for mid and/or top as well- depending on who is fed. Glad to know I did mid right when I used to focus in that lane ^^. Thanks for all the tips into differentiating tower pressure and lane dominance! Have a fantastic day mate, I do hope things get better. =)
i play a lot of leona support so it just pisses me off when adcs dont attack the minions after i throw zenith blade through them (it lets the adc pretty much 1-shot all the minions) because the farm is worth so much more then a few hits on tower, plus, if you clear the enemy minions, your own minions last longer (they arent taking as much damage) and deal more damage (all of them are focused on the enemy tower) plus you get way more gold. it's so advantageous to not immediately push down the tower.
Makes sense, didn't mean to snap. I come from the jungle/support role- adc is not my strongest point because people want me to carry by being the first one and last one out...despite being the squishiest.... Thanks for the under enemy tower farm tip though, gonna try that out soon. Assuming my computer can handle multiple programs for a day >
Because, it would allow the enemy player to freeze lane and farm much easier than if the tower was up.
That makes sense. But at the same time, if they freeze lane away from their tower (I'm only silver 4) can't you come behind and pick em off? Then push lane into tower again anyway since you have 150 gold (or more) advantage on them?
It's generally a good time once ur like 4 and 0, with like a double cs lead. Take your lead to other lanes, in other words, gank other lanes.
If I'm ADC or Top, and my mid laner pings for ganks (new to laning, coming as jungle main Season 4) but the jungler never shows- should I go help them instead? Assuming I have the opposing laner(s) shivering their timbers ofc.
Just let the tower kill all their farm before taking it.
You just want to make sure when you take their tower and you need to base for healing there are no extra minions on your side that would allow them to freeze easily. Let's say your extra minions completely die and there's nothing but fresh new minion waves running through your lane. Either they meet in the very middle between the first towers, or you killed one more wave than they did... so your minions meets the next one 3/4 of the way to their base outside their second tower. Without a certain secret trick what will happen here is their minions will push toward your base because with two equal waves being on their side of the map they will receive minion reinforcements first. Their minions will pile up. Cannon minions can sometimes mix this up though... Get what I'm saying? It's a mouthful I know...
What you can do while they fail freezing this lane is appear in another lane and pressure their tower, gank, ward jungle, set up for drag, ect. Return to your lane in time to pick up a fat juicy minion wave outside your tower.
In my opinion taking the tower is almost always good if you know how to play the map. Sometimes though you're playing a lane bully champ and winning. In that case then maybe prolonging their laning misery is a good idea.
You mean the secret trick of creating mega minion waves? I found that out by accident on my first beginner bot match =D It was awesome. If its another trick, do tell >.> I love tricks, especially https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5-hCftrjGo ... er not those ones, more like https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_665211&feature=iv&src_vid=hbOqva_A2Qo&v=pSf9p2iv6lA XD
Sounds like a good idea. My preferred style is the lane bully/map pressure/hyper carry set ups. Any tips to that specifically? I would REALLY appreciate any help I can get. I'm looking forward to trying ranked again. Got a gold 5 mate going to give me tips in my silver 4 matches =D.
