Top lane is nothing like the suicide lane from Dota, where you are mostly ignored until the teamfight phase of the game. I find that no matter how well(or lack there of) I do in lane, I seem to get a target on my head that says "Jungler Target". I know the obvious is just warding and playing safe, but that leads to lane freezes and my own disadvantage. Any advice for 'deaggroing' the enemy jungler lol
I hate playing top, but I manage. What I do is go someone with escape skill/cc and have tp. Even if top is getting frustrating, being able to tp bot and get a bot advantage is a HUGE lead. Especially since dragon is there as well. Other than that, there's what you stated. Grab 2 green wards on your first back and place one in between mid and top and another closer to you. There's roaming too, but if you're against someone that snowballs hard off of farming, it can either go good or bad. I know freezing your lane sucks if you like to play aggressive, but if you wait and only hit the minions on the last hit, it makes it easier for your jungler to gank for you and you shouldn't have a huge disadvantage on farm. After all, 16 cs is equivalent to one kill! Said all that.... farm, ward, know when to engage and disengage, save tp to get your allies fed. This is probably meh advice, but I try! :D
Just play safe laners, playing someone without an escape is basically handing the jungler free kills every 5 min when your flash is down.
Ward and don't push. Problem solved.
if your team starts out at the top right of the map, i find that 1 pink ward near their jungle entrance kinda stops all ganks... i use it often when i have to go hard ass mtherfker against nasus
Try to play champs with good escape and CC. For example I play

, Irelia's E locks them down and her Q could be used as an escape depending on the situation. The monkeys W is a big distraction to most people and during ganks most junglers focus on that, hes E can also be used as an escape and his ult can be used to knockup and get away since it adds movement speed.
