How to afk/disconnect with grace

Let me say this now, it's NEVER good in the middle of a game to go afk or disconnect. But I do know, from personal experiences, it just can't be avoided sometimes. While I'm fine getting reported for my actions, it does leave my team in disarray and a bit salty. So, I'm trying to see from you guys, what helps with this?

So for the "AFK/disconnect with grace" list we have: -Be honest with your teammates. If it's gotta happen, let them know. -Go back to base before disconnecting to prevent enemy team getting free kill. -Try to plan out your LoL time to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Make sure you have atleast 1 hour or more free time. Never play LoL just because you're "pretty sure" that you won't have to leave the computer in the next hour.

Sorry for living with parents that don't accept "I'll do it in 30 minutes" and don't respect "Let me know what you want me to do ahead of time".

Then play either when they aren't around or just tell them they have to deal with it.

If your parents are willing to kick you out of the house over 30 minutes then your ether too old to be living with them or your making this up.

P.S. I understand have to go situations but don't make up bs. It won't help you and riot will never feel sorry for you. If you gotta go and get a leave buster then you just have to live with it.

My parents are irrational people that get sporadically infuriated over things that any other week had not bothered them, and they are extremely hostile and confrontational. Sorry for not having your parents, I guess?

Like I said, things come up. For example, having to immediately drive a family member to the emergency room doesn't exactly fit into a planned 1 hour or more free time schedule.

Any kind of explanation is better than just .... _______ disconnect is a bit saddening and most mature people will understand if an emergency pops up and someone who isnt wouldnt be calm about it anyway:P

Ok in this situation I believe it is wording but I have had a laptop problem where it had shut down for no reason in the middle of the game and my friend said the message on screen told them "has left the game". I came back and reconnected but several reported me for leaving. Thank goodness it was first offense and I just had to type "I Agree" to knowing I shouldn't be leaving games.

Don't ever, ever give a fake, bullshit excuse just to get out of a game that isn't going the way you want. If you actually have to go and it is not a negotiation, calmly explain the situation, apologize for ruining their game and/or forcing them to lose hard won LP, and go back to base before you disconnect so the enemy can't score a free kill.
