How to afk/disconnect with grace

Let me say this now, it's NEVER good in the middle of a game to go afk or disconnect. But I do know, from personal experiences, it just can't be avoided sometimes. While I'm fine getting reported for my actions, it does leave my team in disarray and a bit salty. So, I'm trying to see from you guys, what helps with this?

So for the "AFK/disconnect with grace" list we have: -Be honest with your teammates. If it's gotta happen, let them know. -Go back to base before disconnecting to prevent enemy team getting free kill. -Try to plan out your LoL time to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Make sure you have atleast 1 hour or more free time. Never play LoL just because you're "pretty sure" that you won't have to leave the computer in the next hour.

Any kind of explanation is better than just .... _______ disconnect is a bit saddening and most mature people will understand if an emergency pops up and someone who isnt wouldnt be calm about it anyway:P

Don't ever, ever give a fake, bullshit excuse just to get out of a game that isn't going the way you want. If you actually have to go and it is not a negotiation, calmly explain the situation, apologize for ruining their game and/or forcing them to lose hard won LP, and go back to base before you disconnect so the enemy can't score a free kill.
