Riven Mains, any tips and tricks on Riven?
I feel like Im an ok Riven player for only buying her a day ago, I know her q auto q auto q then use w to stun and walk away combo but are there any others I need to know about?

Animation canceling (for getting back to lane and chasing/escaping) E then use your Q with as little time in between. It'll make you go slightly farther (which makes a huge difference when it comes to life and death.) Also wall jumps. You can jump most walls but the biggest mistake I made for the longest time was not using my E to do it. It's the same concept as the animation canceling but it lets you jump over walls. How you do it is, Q, Q, (At the wall ---> ) EQ
Look up combo guides for her, and when you play with her you can play more greedily than you would with other champs because her kit is tbh op. My favorite or the one I use the most to finish off adcs and mids is to have 2 q's already used and R+E+Q+W+AA+Hydra+R. You can do that faster than you think with animation canceling which you'll also have to learn if you don't know how to use her.
Her 3rd Q has this weird thing where if you use it when a lee sin is flying toward you, you cancel any damage from him. Same goes for thresh hooks - if you use it literally right as someone clicks the lantern, you can cancel it.
Look up a guy called box box - probably one of the best riven players in the world.

Nah but if you really want to do big damage.. Rush tiamat ASAP.. I play top--lane alot and occasionally grab an omen on champions which already do damage without items (Garen, Tryndamere maybe, Darius. Etc.) just to make sure I can trade even better.
However, there are some top-laners who get the largest powerspikes with a Tiamat or Hydra. Especially Fiora.. Oh god. I played against a Fiora and deprived her of everything but the moment she got Tiamat she started roaming and getting so fed it was ridiculous.. Anyways.. Riven is another champion who does AMAZING with TIamat/Hydra whether you're actually activating it or not.. Which you should be activating!
I recently played her and I don't understand the animation-cancelling concept at all.. I'm sure it helps but here are my tips.. no complicated click-and-press mechanics just:
- Hold your cursor over your target so that each Q lands on them.
- On the third Q which knocks the enemy up make sure you promptly use your Ki Strike to then lock them down with CC and then follow up by activating your Tiamat/Hydra this is an efficent trading tatic I learned while playing Riven. Works best in large groups esp. if you activate your ult, perform this combo, ignite a healthy-ish person, and then activate the second half to sweep the group down.
- Your shield can negate the first turret shot, so if you are diving use your shield to absorb the FIRST shot.. Turret shots do more damage which each bolt! Also shield out of trades, or after the third Q and ki strike combo shield out to absorb the counterattack damage.
- Finally, JUST GO HAM. Q into the fray, Ki Strike, Shield Out, Q in, Q a third time, maybe even ult.. Perfect engage LOL Just.. mash your buttons.
