I need an AP mid to play, any suggestions?
I play ad mids like yasuo or zed mostly, i figure i should pick up an ap mid, id kassadin a good choice, since he kinda counters ap?

Galio mid lane shuts down AP mid laners. Lux mid lane is pretty forgiving. Probably a great starter mage. LeBlanc mid lane is an AP assassin to play as. And Fizz mid lane takes more practice but has more versatility than just a high mobility instagib machine.

Try ap alistar, it sounds stupid but with lichbane and ludens and rabadons and zhonyas and stuff like that hes so strong, but hes just really fun to play, and late game he melts towers because of his passive and lichbane

are good AP mids to pick up. , , , and are similar to the AD mids that you listed while , , ,, , and are nice AP mids that I recommend picking up.
My mid mains are Diana(b/c she is insane) and Fizz(b/c he is a cheater). I play Vel'koz when i need a safe pick, but i play ap cho when im bored bc his burst is ridiculous and he is pretty good.

His Passive grants extra gold after each creep kill.
His Q has insane dmg and one of the longest range abilities in the game.
He pretty much has 6 Abilities because of his W (Which includes a stun perfect for champion kills and an AOE slow perfect for clearing minions)
And his Ult is a semi global teleport and it gives vision on every enemy.
The only downside is he's squishy and item dependent but if you farm properly he's great his ult is awesome too because of how many different ways you can use it.
Most ap mid laners have different styles to them, but my preference is 
. Hos mobility and ability to snowball to carry games no matter how far behind he is is what has me hooked to him

You won't regret it. He was my first AP mid that got me into the game. His abilities are fun to use, that's all you need to know when you're new to the game.
If you enjoy playing ad mids, you would probably enjoy a more assassin ap mid. I'd recommended Katarina
