Jungling Shyvana

So, I've been wondering how to build/effectively do Jungle Shyvana. Over the times I've played here I've experimented with different things, but I've never been quite able to settle. For example, during my last game I went almost straight Tank;

item 3709 item 3022 item 3117 item 3102 item 3082 and buying several item 2138 . I was probably going to finish up with item 3143 and item 3071 or item 3156 .

I know the basics of Jungle Shyvana; farm as hardcore as possible, hit 6 before ganking, if the enemy Jungler shows the slightest sign of weakness devour his whole Jungle, maul anyone who is dumb enough to come into your Jungle etc. But builds and teamfight strategy tend to bog me down a little. Do I act like a regular tank and just peel/body block for teammates, or dive straight into the fray? And what takes precedence in building for her?

For example; item 3715 or item 3706 ? Shyvana has an issue getting to and sticking to people; item 3706 helps with that. But then item 3715 makes your Q and W absolutely SHRED people, upping your damage by a notable bit.

And then there are other things, like do I build item 3022 ? Helps with the sticking issue and gives health? Or would item 3153 /item 3071 be a better item?

Etc.

My philosophy: always build your core, then additional items to cover your weaknesses.

I'd say that Red Smite is terrible on Shyvana. When you can actually hit someone, it deals alot of damage. Problem: Shyvana already deals a shit ton of damage if ppl actually just stand there. You need to stick to people. I never take Flash on Shyvana. You need sticking power.

That means summoner 11 summoner 3 , item 3153 , item 3709 , item 3143 .

I wouldn't ever get Frozen Mallet just because its too expensive and you need armor, not just HP. Once you have item 3153 item 3709 item 3143 item 1001 you can build situationally. I usually go for item 3006 item 3065 item 3078 if I'm going damage or item 3047 item 3065 item 3075 if I have to be a super tank.

Honestly something in her kit is missing to be effective. This applies to top lane as much as jungling. I know she is supposed to be the CC less champ but with all the jumps and dashes in the game this space does not make sense. If you use you ult to engage you can be CCed mid flight.

I really think no itemization can fix her her base problems.

Yea item 3153 is a must to your build, it's been amazing on Shyvana ever since the buff. And i don't think you should ever buy item 3022 , it's too ugly. If you feel the need to get another ad item, I'd pick between item 3078 or item 3071 if they have strong tanks.

And i love that picture, did you draw it yourself?

oh well, that´s really a complicated topic right there... for the most part Shyvana is fairly easy to kite but rather hard to kill, so in teamfights you mostly zone away opponent carries if they don´t missplay - meaning your job is to run towards the carries as long as you can keep it up and then run away, maul onto their tankline and eventually get out. However, if they don´t have a real frontline or fail to kite you it can pay off to go for more offense: hydra if they feature a bunch of melees clumping together, botrk vs a single high-priority target or strong tankline - or even wit´s end to support dual-ap sololaners and burst down squisies + later on a trinity.

item 3153 Is your first item after cinderhulk. BorK is enough damage for Shyvana, so you will build tank after that. item 3025 item 3078 Perhaps if you are carrying and snowballing, but it will be very very rare.

The mana from item 3025 seems like it makes a huge chunk of the gold cost a massive waste. item 3078 seems like slightly less, but still.
