Why am I wrecking Silver 2 but getting rekt at silver 1?

:/ Got promote/demote between the two tiers. I'm pretty surprised what a division difference can do.

What's the difference between silver and gold?

It's not a huge difference and its not as black and white as "golds do this and silvers don't". I'd say teams that are ahead are better at taking objectives, players snowball their advantage more efficiently and make fewer mistakes.

I have a pretty good answer for you.

Bronze 1 is = to silver 3. Silver 1 is = to gold 3, and ect ect. Silver 1 is the hardest to beat in silver, likewise the 1st of every ranking, and I have proof right here.

My friend, thesniperturtle, was stuck in silver 1 for months in season 3. not even kidding, He could not beat it. When he finally managed, he climbed straight to diamond 3 from there. In my personal experience, gold 5-4 is silver level. Where as, silver 1 was basically the same as gold 3 as far as skill goes. Maybe not exactly the same since there are silver players there, but it's very close to being the same. I think this was caused when riot removed the mmr climb cap in the first tiers, which made it where you would only gain like 9 lp a game, and lose about the same.

You have to be about as strong as the middle divisions of the next league to promote out of your current league. It's kind of like a failsafe because you have to drop about 5 divisions of MMR to demote out of a league once you're in it.

When I got into gold I was playing and winning games consistently against people in Gold III - Gold I and rarely playing games against people lower than that.

I have the same problem in gold 1/2, always hovering between that level, and when I get into plat promos, always lose 2-2-1. You have to be a gold 3/4 level to get into gold 5.
