I need help about Lissie ^_^

Before I start doing ranked, I need to learn every role(I wanna learn mid/top). I started with champions I know their skillset, also viable as both mid and top. As support, I don't do bad as Lissandra, so I wanted to start from her as a mid/top laner. Another reason is my love of evil champions :) Can you give me some building and laning advice for her(at solo lanes)?

A thing to emphasize is that she's often stronger top than mid because she can really struggle against other ranged champions. Her kit is very well suited to obliterating melee champions - some melee champions top can find the matchup about as difficult as any matchup can possibly be, with Lissandra essentially being able to kill them at will, escape from any jungle gank, and harass them without any answer. But against a lot of ranged matchups you'll need to play very safe, since they'll out-trade you when you can only use your Q to trade unless you commit to an all-in, and using your escape to trade is extremely dangerous unless their jungler has shown himself on the map.

Normally I would talk about how Lissandra is OP and should be gutted to the ground but I'll help you out.

Lissandra isn't a supporty champion. She's the freelo witch who blasts erryone with high AP Q's and decides the time for a fight. She is the cancer of top, the meh midlaner who can play safely (i mean come on. she has no choice due to her mana) and be decent all game.

Max cd on Lissandra is very useful. Allows you to keep soamming those freelo Q's.

People have this misconception that Lissandra should be built tanky. If you're one of those people who want a tank, build

item 3027 + item 3001 + item 3003 +item 3110 + (item 3157 , item 3089 item 3135 , item 3151 )

Why not Rylai? Because Frozen heart's AoE debuff strenghtens Liandry. Plus the health isn't the best. It's not a bad buy but doesn't really suit a build like this.

Why Frozen heart? Why not. 99 Armor, 20% cd, mana for Arcangel, and a great attack speed debuff that reduces the rate those pesky Ashe arrows are fired at you. Combined with Abyssal, you're the ultimate aura debuffing freelo Witch.

Boots is relative. You could choose between

item 3158 item 3020 item 3111 (usually for long cc like Fiddle Fear or Rammus Taunt)

Mage Lissandra is where the freelo Witch resides in,

item 1056 item 1056 item 3020 item 3128 item 3157 item 3135

Why 2 dorans? Because Freelo Lissandra's passive mana combined with the double mana restore you get from killing enemies ( and say the +1 mana per kill mastery) gives you free mana from a free spell (if ya kill minion). Just get the two dorans and you can farm lane a lot easier without even needing athenes.

Although feel free to sell the dorans if you don't need them later ingame for cooldown. But dorans gives ya a little bit of health.

The key thing to note as mage Lissandra is that you're going in with E when you see an opportunity, you're gonna DFG + ult your target, full combo him incredibly fast. Zhonya is just a 2 second death delay just incase the target lives so you can fire off your last Q.

I'm not sure of the full combo flow though. But if you throw a Q before you zhonya, it will be up again for you to finish the job.

As support Lissandra?

I'm not too sure about this. But something like item 3098 item 3057 - Poke em hard (getting my Iceborn/Lichbane) item 3096 item 3010 - I just wanna stay in lane for a while (getting that RoA so I can tank) item 3098 item 3191 - Poke em and survive (rushing dat Zhonyas)

You can adapt from there. Just note that Tear would be incredibly hard to stack as a support so it's not really worth the investment.Unless you're sona. item 3151 is a decent buy especially with a item 3027 since you'll be going slightly tanky with that route. item 3023 works as a way to catch enemies. Gives decent AP and cd and ms for 2400 gold.

Also don't forget to buy wards if you're rushing an item or sightstone if you're more sightstone oriented.

TL:DR - GuttheFreeloWitch

i've played Lissandra quite a bit mid. Here's what tips i can give;

item 3157 is far and away your #1 priority item, even if you're against an ap champ mid. This item allows you to fulfill your role; E into the enemy team and CC them to death without dying. The usual build i go for is something like this:

item 1056 item 2003 ==> item 3020 item 1056 item 1056, with item 3157 being your first big item. Your other core items:

item 3089 item 3001 item 3128 (disclaimer; i don't actually use DFG, even when it used to be utterly broken on Liss, bc i am too fumble fingered to reliably use targeted active items :P)

Some other decent items to consider are item 3174 (if you find yourself having to play very defensive and running into mana problems), item 3135 (more cost effective than rabadons, helps if they are tanky), item 3151 (Liss can by this and make it work well w/out Rylais, bc nearly every one of her abilities applies cc), and item 3026 (if you find yourself dying too much).

I've never built a item 3110 on her; that might be a better item for the top lane; item 3027 is a good item for Liss, but i've found that it's better to rush Zhonyas, and by the time you have it, it may no longer be worth investing the time in a RoA. This also may be a better top lane item against someone like Irelia , or when you know you will have mana problems and don't want to by a item 3174 against an AD opponent.

I do not recommend getting a item 3003 at all; Liss is not an effective tear stacker until very late (when her Q CD is only 1 second, lol), and for a defensive item is much worse for her than either Zhonyas or RoA.

In lane, you mainly want to be last hitting and harrassing with your Q, which splinters into shards when it hits something. This gives it a lot of unexpected range, and can punish melee champs early on. Just be sure to watch your mana; your passive gives you free skills, but Liss's mana is gates bc of this. If you aren't careful about when you use your skills, you will be near zero mana for the entire laning phase.

W, Ring of Frost, is extremely useful for forcing melee champs to disengage when they jump on you. Learning the range of this skill will save your life. E does more damage than you probably expect, but i recommend not using it to harrass your opponent, even when it's free with the passive. When this goes on CD, you are extremely vulnerable to ganks. Remember also that your ult lasts longer when you use it on yourself (~2.5 seconds) than when you use it on an opponent (~1.5 seconds); after going in on the enemy team, it may be better to use this on yourself than on a single enemy.

Lissandra, in lane, works best against melee tanks (which she can harass to death with her Q) and most assassins, especially after the laning phase. For example, Leblanc and Fizz may kill you once during laning phase, but once that ends your kit will neutralize them completely.

Playstyle: When encountering someone alone that you want to burst to death (and don't need to E into them), this is the best combo: R->E (through them, does tons of damage)->Q->W(should hit right as the ult releases them)->Q. If this was an assassin, they should be dead, especially if you have ignite up.

For a teamfight initiation, E into them when they are grouped, and then R (either the really fed priority target or yourself), Q -> W -> Zhonyas; by this time your team should either have swooped in or left you do die, in which case there's nothing more you can do.

On ganking: Lissandra is one of the strongest ganking midlaners in the game. When you are level 6, you should constantly be looking for opportunities to push the mid wave into the opponents turret so you can go gank top or bot. If you are top, i heavily recommend taking teleport so you can stay relevant throughout the map.

Bad Matchups: opponents that can deal consistent ranged harrass, or all in her easily early on, are bad matchups for lissandra. Unfortunately, Zed can do both of these things reliably, so be extremely careful. Fizz isn't an awful matchup, especially early on, but the maddening thing about this fish is that no matter how well you do in lane against him, ONE MISTAKE on your part and he can 100-0 you. Use constant caution. Ahri and Lux can also be incredibly frustrating to play against, as they both have long ranged lock-down cc that let them burst you to death. Rush boots against these guys, and consider rushing abyssal if you find yourself doing terrible.

Good Matchups: Like i said, Leblanc may kill Liss once or twice in lane, but afterwards your kit shuts her down completely. Yasuo is countered extremely hard by her as well; use an auto to proc his shield, then use your Q to harass. In the to plane, tanks like DrMundo are shut down really hard by her as well; the key is hitting your Qs. Practice this, and you should do fine.

Good luck! (Don't do support Liss, btw; it is awful before level 6)

I can offer little advice of my own accord, I'm only a fair Liss mid. However, one of the diamonds here :

Actually plays liss regularly. He would be able to help you, and it's Free Coaching Saturday nights!
