Nidalee or Shyvana?

Kaelnor··2 votes·1,934 views

I'm looking to expand on my champ pool with another champ that can JG and Lane. I see great results in games with both Shyvana , and Nidalee, so which should I pick and why so? Any thoughts and suggestions are open so feel free, but I don't want to hear anything like 'don't pick (insert champ or item) for it's cancer' or any BS like that though lol. Thanks.

Shyvana is up if anything without devourer. If Rito nerfs Shyvana, just because she's good with devourer, then they're stupid. Shyvana is not op with devourer. She's good, but not op.

Yeah basically. They made her laning less prominent, and I can't have that. Nidalee can still lane, even as support in the right hands, and can Jg too imo.

I would go with nid as with the general opinion/fact that shyvana is op currently will lead to nerfs.

Hmm don't know about that but I will watch out for it though.

BUT....you could spam Shyvana while you can and get freelo. That's what i've been doing with Sivir.... I will hold her hand while Ritoleads her to her gold filled grave... Rest in peace my dear. I will always love you

why is sivir freelo? her kit has basically not changed since release and they just recently nerfed her to stop a stupid combination from happening

She fits into meta perfectly, it isnt because of just her ult+rglory. While her ult and rglory are insane, she fits in well into this cc-heavy meta perfectly because while other adc's rely on dashes for mobility, those have a long cooldown and can only save you once per fight. Sivir has passive furor and a spellshield that can keep her safe during extended fights, and her ult to reposition too if necessary. Her Q is an AOE nuke at lvl5-upgrade with some AD which can shred entire teams as well.

It isn't that her kit has changed, it's that as an adc she can survive and do well in this tank meta because of her mobility and gimmicks(E) and her ult is a perfect supportive tool for tanks.

Kalista also fits into meta very well and is very very strong. The only reason they haven't nerfed her is b/c she is so hard. LCS bans her every game.

Sivir and Kalista are the strongest adcs currently in this season, jinx maybe, but that may only be in lower elos from what i see.
It gives me reason to believe the victorious skin will be for one of them

Tl;DR: Sivir hasn't changed, she has the tools able to survive long/CC-filled fights and supporrt ult with tanks making her strong

Yeah I agree about Sivir being strong. She's just about the perfect ADC imo. Hell her E is $$$ in trading and in teamfights. Definitely no less top tier when it comes to ADCs. Plus she has lovely waveclearing, big damage, and like you stated... MONSTER utility just like Kalista. Personally Idk why I stopped playing her outside of being in top and mid lane so much.

Nid, she gets banned less.

Also chunking spears for days feels good.

I guess it does lol, I even had a JG Nidalee on my team and she went like 40-8 or something. Those spears hurt.

Both are great choices, but are polar opposites. One is a tank, the other is an assassin. So it depends on what you feel like learning.

Personally I feel like Nidalee is a more rewarding choice because you need to land skill shots, and set up good traps. You also need to manage both cougar and human form, which is like 6 skills instead of just 4.

Another you could try is Fizz who can both lane and jungle, and you can build him in many ways.

Good luck!

Thanks, but I thought Nidalee can lane as well as Shyvana . I may be wrong though, but idk.

Shyvana is useless as a tank. She has no CC apart from a shitty push with her ult. Not even a slow. She is way way better played as a bruiser with 2-3 damage items.

It all depends on your playstyle. Both champions are in very good spot right now, but represent completely different playstyles: Nidalee throws her spears like crazy and assasinates marked enemies, Shyvana goes all in with her ultimate and deals tons of AOE damage. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, like Nidalee being very squishy and Shyvana having weak ganks when jungling. It all depends on what is your most prefered playstyle.

Ahh okay.

you could try some of the other jungler/laner combinations if you don't already have them

examples: warwick (not that great of a laner but he can sustain for "days" as people put it

dr mundo, the ever popular uber tank

nautilus is a decent pick but I think he's one of the rune-centered junglers

fiddlesticks can lane but is better off jungling

nunu can do both easily and has godly clear speed

xin zhao and aatrox are two other decent picks that can wreck in the right hands (idk how but they can XD, especially with the devourer freelo going on )

sion is a godly jungler with outrageous amounts of crowd control, mobility, tankiness and damage that works just as well in lane

kayle is another one but i've never tried it and don't know the build...

akali is one, but I think she should be strictly jungler for now

chogath can jungle, yes, fear the jungling chogath! XD

diana is apparently another dual-purpose champion

elise's numbers are pretty good for now but they might nerf her

we all know and fear the power of a good hecarim player

jax is actually a very decent jungler, especially with the new devourer

khazix works well top lane because his damage is immensely increased on the dive heavy champs that frequent it, but I think he's not that great at it

there's malphite but he's another rune-heavy jungler

maokai is decent in multiple roles

nasus has free reign to stack in the jungle and increases his damage/clearing with his E, but it's less effective than you'd think because of his lack of mobility

nocturne is another great pick but I think he's almost strictly jungler atm

OLAF, the BROLAF, does well at both jungling and laning as no mere beast can slay him

pantheon, need I say more?

rengar is a popular pick

shen is another, but idk how people manage

there's Trundle in the jungle, as trundle would say, "time to troll!" well, he's very decent in the jungle with all the current meta but his kit just doesn't work well unless facing the right team comp sadly

tryndamere is a pretty good choice for jungler/top as his playstyle doesn't really change between the two

and those are the ends of my suggestions

Except when your jungle Sion misses his ult from right next to you and you both die. Oh Sion ult. You always amuse me.
