Hi :)

I'm a bronze 3 player trying to climb the ladder, and one of the most repeated advice I hear is to plant wards and use them for map awareness. I've gotten fairly good at upgrading my trinket/getting sightstone + sweeping lens and planting sight wards (freelo.gg claims I ward like a plat player), and while the vision has helped my team and me a lot, freelo also says I don't use vision wards at all, which is true.

My problem is that I don't know when to use vision wards. Everytime I buy one, it seems to get killed off before an ordinary sight ward would have been and I feel terrible knowing I had just created a 130g deficit between my team and theirs because of it. I'm sure pinks are supposed to be able to return their value to my team, but I just don't know when to use them in my team's advantage. When the other team has an Akali or Shaco I usually just get the Oracle's lens instead so I don't throw gold into the other team.

How do I use pinks effectively?

Put them at entrance of your junhle stopping enemys from invading they should be used at places you control if you want then to live long

they can also be placed around dragon baron blue buff red buff if you want to controll this area Even if they dont live to long and you got dragon from it its worth

if your a bot laner and lane is constantly pushed, enemy huggs tower this means enemy can not check bush pink be good there now to cause it will stay rather long

Against stealth, they are worth dropping because they take 5 aa to kill... so it's not going to die before the stealth champion does, and when it gets killed off after, the 25g difference between this and a normal ward is more than paid off by the kill.

For vision, you don't place them where you'd put any other ward. You place them where they can provide vision for a long time, and/or where they are easy to defend by your team.

Placing an early pink at your buff (red or blue depending on side) can prevent a lot of BS counter jungling and buff stealing and your jungle will love you for it.

Placing a pink in tri bush when you're blue side bot can clear a gank path for a long time because it's hard for the enemy to kill it in your presence without getting punished for it (unless they have taken control of the lane at this point).

The banana bush close to red in enemy jungle, the small bush between tower and wraiths, and the small bushes in river before drag and baron can also hold pinks for 15+ minutes with ease as people seldom check these (even in their own jungle).

Play support more and you'll know. Also try to realize which spots you get caught the most in and those are the spots you need to ward.

Thanks for the help everyone :)

I'll try planting a pink at my buffs and moving them to tribrush or banana if the opportunity presents themselves.

I generally put them in places you think you can defend and will last a long time. If you upgrade to pink trinket you can be more aggressive with them, but I don't recommend it. Upgraded green is way better.
