A Proposed Yorick Rework

Passive (Gravedigger): Yorick reaps the souls of minions and pets he has killed (3 for pets/large minions, 1 for small minions). Yorick gains 1 movement speed for each stack of Gravedigger he has, capping at 60 max.

Q (Omen of All) (Cost 50 mana + 3/6/12 stacks, 3 static cooldown): Yorick cycles through a melee, caster, and siege minion. After selecting one, he summons a minion that attacks nearby enemies, prioritizing nearby champions. In addition, Yorick empowers each type with a special ability: Melee: +50% base minion movement speed and can ghost through units Caster: Attacks apply a DoT dealing % current hp damage scaling with AP Siege: Attacks slow enemies, and heals Yorick for 5% of damage dealt All summoned minion's health decays over time

W (Soul Shatter) (30 mana, 5 second cooldown): Yorick's next auto attack gains 50 range, deals and deals 50% bonus damage (can critically strike). If it kills a minion, Yorick shatters it's soul, reaping the parts, gaining 3x as normal stacks.

E (Reclaimation) (70 mana, 10 second cooldown): Yorick leaps to a summoned minion, dealing damage around it and crushing it, slowing nearby enemies, while reclaiming 1/3 of it's summon cost (stacks only, not mana).

R (An Unfinished Job) (100 mana, 100/90/80 second cooldown): Yorick summons 10/20/30 (+Stacks/10) minions in a target area that attack nearby enemies, prioritizing champions. These minions do not have decaying health and will push towards the nexus as normal if no nearby enemies are present. While in this zone, Yorick's E is put on a 1 second cooldown.

I feel like this rework would keep Yorick's identity of a gravedigger who summons ghouls, but makes him a unique champion in that he interacts more heavily with minions than any other. In addition, his farm requirements gates him more than his current mana gate, but also rewards him heavily if his can use his kit to zone out other champions during the laning phase. On the other hand, if he gets zoned out, he'll be thirsting for the resources needed to win his lane, and can't just spam ghouls at a range like how he does currently. His E gives him more mobility and safety than before, but the requirement that he use a summoned minion forces him to consume his offensive power if he uses it to dive or escape with a Q E combo. Yorick is constantly forced to make trades: He gives up mobility and offensive power when he summons minions, but loses his damage if he refuses to relinquish those he has reaped.

Tell me what you guys think, I just made it as I was biking home from class :)

I like the idea overall, but a major problem with Yorick's current identity is that he lacks any sort of hard CC in the top lane. If you look at the popular top laners they almost all have some form of hard CC.

The only ones who don't have immense value of another form. Yorick's only contribution to a team fight is ulting your strongest carry.

I think that's what I dislike about most Yorick reworks, is they just continue to magnify his weaknesses. Strong laner, useless in team fights.

I've got my own ideas for a Yorick rework, but Agronar pretty much said my thoughts.

Yorick, currently, is actually a very strong laner. He's possibly the original lane-bully, if not one of the earliest. However, once teamfights start up, you have to pray your team can somehow prevent them from moving. Otherwise you're going to be reduced to an ultbot regardless of how strong you are.
