Help finding another bursty midlaner

Hello guys! I'm an unranked and my playstyle is "CC as much as you can and deal tons of damage or peel". I'm now interested in bursty mages can CC/peel and started playing Annie and Lissandra. Can you guys help me finding a bursty midlaner? I've some ideas and I've created a button saying "Other", so I'm open to your advices.

Note that I bought but can't play Katarina because my playstyle isn't compatible with her, she has NO CC and NO tankiness.

Syndra would be a good fit for you, though I think you should take Veigar, Malzahar, and Vel'Koz into consideration too.

I would've said Zyra, but she isn't doing pretty well atm. She still has her good base damages and good burst, but she is dead beat by probably every other mid lane mage. She is still a very fun, and versitile champ to play as it shows in her kit. She is long range and has good poke, but her move speed is just... ugh. But once she locks someone down with her E, her burst from her plants and abilities combined with her ult is phenomenal. She is VERY squishy, probably very close to anivia and sona starting health, her passive isn't great and she doesn't really stand out at late game, but she compensates with her different and unique playstyle by utilizing her W's (they are practically about the same thing as Heimerdinger's turrets, but don't last as long). I'd suggest trying her out at least.

But to compensate, syndra would be a very good choice for you since she has great burst lvl 6 >, has little delay times on her abilities, and is a great lane bully. She has been getting quite the nerfs for her early game, as well as the upcoming removal of DFG, but is a late game killer.

to be honest, my favorite mid playstyle is shaco. ap shaco. if you can kite correctly and place boxes down, a gank turns into a double kill. its a tough playstyle to master and I have played about 70 +ap shaco games but it is too much fun. wouldn't recommend for ranked. just for fun in blind or draft

Out of that list..lb. She isn't a great peeler, and her cc is very mediocre, but her burst is phenomenal. Zero tankiness though. I would say Kayle could fit your playstyle. She is usually built around her E atm, but a lich bane kayle late game can still 1 shot adcs like any other burst mage. She also has peel in the form of her Q slow, utility in her W heal + speed boost, and tankiness + great teamfight potential in her ult. No real CC though.

Though Malz and an AP cho would probably fit your playstyle the best.

How is Brand not on your list? Stun, zoning, and burst all in one kit.

Veigar is another one to consider, but I'd wait a patch to see what happens with him before diving in. On demand AoE stun, zoning with his meteor, and is the definition of "burst mage".

Ahri is reworked to not have burst in her kit, and Akali players are fairly sure she won't be as viable with these nerfs.

Mordekaiser is famous for not having any CC, not sure why he's on your list.

Syndra is still unnerfed pretty much. Her whole kit is really bursty and if you use smartcasts that's even better. Also she's a safe pick (slow and a stun) and can escape ganks really easily.

I'm still going to vote Syndra, because of the CC and peels, and she still has the ability to do a lot of burst damage, but LeBlanc is also a good option, and has a lot of outplay potential, as well as some hard CC

Lux; she's got a snare, slow, shield and a laser. She's all skillshots though, but one of them is aoe, so Not that hard to land. But she's very squishy; she's a glass cannon. Fragile but powerful if you play her right. She's easy to pick up, but you need to get the hang of her.

I'm going to have to say syndra. Her kit is fantastic and her high skill cap makes the plays she can make pretty incredible. Malzahar is another one of my favorites and if you can land his e, q, and ult them while they stand in your w and follow up with ignite, you can burst down almost anyone.

Also. Regarding syndras stun, I reqd in the patch 5 2 details that they widened the width of her stun to make it easier to land.

I say either go for Syndra or Ahri. Akali has no CC but strong burst post lvl 6. Neither does Mordekaiser but his passive and W ability make him more tanky than normal squishy mages. Anivia is a bit slow but she has effective CC and damage if you land her stun. Her passive also is a good fail safe if you mess something up or get outplayed. Just don't do a risky tower dive or else your passive is useless. Leblanc is a popular bursty champ and can nuke champs if she gets ahead. Her E ability CC isn't an immediate effect and can be a little tricky to land but you can grab the hang of it. Landing Ahri's E charm can allow you to also deal some major harass or start an all-in play. But because of her popularity, experienced mid-laners usually know how to deal with Ahri or counterpick her. Smart laners against her will hide behind a minion so she can't land a charm. But she has great mobility with her ultimate that can work as an escape, gap closer, or extra source of damage. Syndra's abilities are all skill shots but her ultimate is a targeted ability which is a reliable source of all-in. Her recent nerf made landing her stuns a more difficult but when you land it you can dish out serious damage. The edge that Syndra has in team fights is her stun. She can stun multiple targets, while allowing may only charm one enemy per use. I have a personal bias since I own Ahri and she is my main champion when I go mid lane so I won't really vote but suggest Syndra or Ahri. But if you really want my vote, I'd say Ahri because of Syndra's nerf on her E and her lack of mobility. But one downside to Ahri is like I said before, she is really popular so many people will have experience playing against Ahri. On the bright side, Ahri has a tweak and buff in patch 5.2. You might like Syndra's multiple CC though that is effective in team fights, where a group of 5 people would be hard not to land a shot. Good luck!

ahri doesnt burst anymore. go leblanc or syndra.

Leblanc If you're good and smart this is your champ. You can CC with double chains, juke or just straight out burst someone.
