Hitting Straight-Line Skillshots, Dive Champs

  1. I'm a support main who's terrible at hitting straight-line skillshots. I can't land Thresh hooks for my life, and it's painful. I find this baffling because I'm relatively fantastic at hitting aoe skillshots. Awesome at hitting Soraka q's (then again, who isn't? They're huge), good at Nami bubbles, etc. Any tips? It's the really narrow ones that give me the most trouble (duh). I can hit Nautilus hooks all day, but an Ahri charm or a Thresh grab? Forget it.

  2. Also on my list of pains- I don't understand dive champions. I wish I could be more specific, but there's something about the entire concept that just doesn't mesh with me. I thrive with magey supports or ones I can play "reactively (Sona, Soraka, Braum, Taric), but I can't play Leona for my life. My playstyle as a whole tends toward passive, which may be the root of the problem.

Anyone got any tips or tricks? Good guides, videos, whatever? All help greatly appreciated.

Hit boxes are really janky for line skill shots, you should abuse this fact and aim slightly to the left or right of the champ and it'll still land.

This makes it so if the opponenet either doesn't move or moves in the wrong direction, they die.

  1. You have to practice it more. With any kind of skillshot, you want to aim them where you think the enemy is going to walk. When the enemy is moving around, you don't want to aim at their character model because they're not going to be in that spot once your skillshot reaches there. Get better at reading the enemy's movements and aim at the spot where you think they're going to walk into. Thats how you get better at landing skillshots.

  2. With tower diving, all you're simply doing is tanking turret aggro and getting out of the turret's attack range before it kills u. Timing and knowing how dmg u can tank before dying is important. You just want to tower dive the enemy, tank some turret aggro, and then get out of there before you die.

Honestly the first problem just sounds like you have bad aim which is the result of poor mouse skills; if you aren't smart casting your abilities START it will help get those skillshots off quicker. If you want to improve your mouse handling I would suggest playing a different game, a game called Osu! it is all about mouse control and timing.

As for dive champs; that comes with a shit ton of experience to know when to dive and who to dive on. Your understanding of the game and current champs power lvls at different times of the game are what make or break an "all in" champ. They are very hit or miss -unforgiving-.
