Is it possible to get higher MMR in normals?

We all know that ranked play, especially at low ELO, is filled with toxicity and an overall bad experience. As with all pvp games of this nature, there's an MMR rating which is used to determine who you go against. All that being said, I really hate playing ranked for the obvious reason. Is it actually possible to increase/decrease your MMR in normals? I do want to get better at the game and all, but I simply hate playing ranked. I guess I'm hopeful, but not expecting it. Amumu

Alright, so... just to be on the safe side; your ranked and normals MMR are separate. Playing normals and winning won't raise your ranked MMR. It will raise your normals MMR.

As the other people responded the way to raise it is to win more. But, if you want a higher ranked MMR, you gotta win more in ranked.

Yes. Win more.

(I know, this is a longer answer, but that's how it works.)

Yes.

(I know; it's just a short answer.)

I think if you have a positive win rate in normals you are more likely to be looked at as more skilled in ranked. So if you make a smurf and wreck in norms then you do your placements you have a good chance of being pared with better players and as a result getting a better placement.
