Requesting tips for ranked

Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips for getting out of silver, and maybe getting into plat? I take breaks from the game a lot so my skill ranges a bit. I made it to gold 5 twice now, every season has started with a lose streak. Anyways, Losing pretty bad as usual. Just wondering, is it my fault I'm losing every game? I'm not a negative person and I don't rage ingame, I usually keep a positive attitude and try to help out people who are doing bad. But I just keep losing, can someone tell me or look at my recent games and see what I might be doing wrong? Or just give me some general tips for gold or plat. Thanks in advance (:

GL getting to plat. That is the top 10% of the player base. IF you are asking for help you will not get there.

So you are telling me everyone plat+ has made it there without any help from an outside source?

Pretty much yes. Maybe a few paid to be elo boosted but they do not last.

Your looking for tricks to get out. There are no ticks beyond solid game play. You do not magically raise through the ranks, you earn it. Looking for someone to tell you tricks is pretty pathetic.

Its one thing asking what you are doing wrong and learning to fix it(as for coach). You on the other hand think you are not were you belong and should be higher. Your 1st problem.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but no better way to put it. You do know how stupid this sounds right? I promise you, not a single person, especially in diamond + challenger, has made it there solely on their own skill / knowledge. Every single one of them has done research or looked through forums for idea / advantages. I am genuinely asking for help, so please say something constructive next time instead of attempting to troll or just being ignorant.

Clearly you don't. The game is a lot more then just clicking and killing a dude. My point doesn't just apply to this game, if you just go through life without thinking you won't make it very long. Knowledge is key

ok since you're genuinely asking it.... what i'd recommand you do is play your main regardless of your team comp.... this might sound weird but thats how i got to plat last season from gold 5, I just spammed my main

people in gold don't realllly take full advantage of enemy team comp/builds so it really doesn't matter. Just focus on improving your main, grab friends in higher rank divisions (perf diamond +) and just play normals with them....you wana try to vs people better than you and learn instead of complaining (not talking about you, but other dudes on forum) that match making is broken and vsing ppl too high level...etc etc

I've vs'd a few master and challenger dudes in lane, and i learn the most out of those games, and i really wish to vs more people in that division....I even ask them in all chat, "How could i have done that better"...after i engage or do anything of that sort. I understand completely they playing a normal game like its a bot game, so I obviously win lane, still....knowing they're not trying, do ask them questions.

you'll learn more from losing to better players by making mistakes rather than from winning against dudes worst than you.

I've never gone against master or challenger, but I beat diamond / plat players mid or at least go even when I do norms with a friend. He rages a ton when we lose even normals so I don't play with him much lol. Though it is a good idea to see things from the other side, like if you get completely stomped in lane, to ask what you did wrong. Because if you get completely stomped then there is some huge weakness somewhere that they are utilizing

HOW? If I tell a beginner who strictly mains Garen and ONLY attempts to get kills in lane and never farms, that he should try to improve his cs more I'm helping him get better with tips that will help him advance. If I told the OP that maining his favorite champion would help him climb then that is a tip that helps him advance in rank.

No I just don't get to play for long periods of time, or I don't play for a while. I've been gold twice now, both times were rough to get there. I was gold 5 both times and kind of stopped there, so its not easy for me to get. Last season I started silver 1, dropped to silver 3 or 4 and had to climb back up. Anyways, things change and the game changes when you take breaks. And its never too late to improve, and like I said, I was low gold. I want to make it farther then that, maybe plat if I work at it enough. Just because I made it to a rank once and I'm having trouble doesn't mean i was boosted or given/sold an account. I've had this account since a few months after release, just never took ranked too seriously or never did much research.

Clicking through some of your match history and especially your lost games its rather difficult to say what went wrong. You seem to be doing what you are supposed to as a mid mage. Putting out a lot of damage.

Maybe as a team you are not taking advantage of the situations where you get a few kills and should be pushing objectives.

I got from bronze to low plat by simply spamming Vel'Koz non stop. Either as mid, sup or even top sometimes. I try to put out a lot of AOE damage and always try to push lanes. No chasing no going back and forth to kill a guy 4vs1. Just push those waves and kill those towers and try to get your teammates to do the same.

Also upgrade your trinket at level 9 and ward. One pink in your own jungle and 3 wards out depending on the situation.

Well I am not especially high (only gold 5 and in promos), but I am pretty sure I have mmr a bit above g5 because generally there are at least 3 plat5s in every game I play and no other people below g3 so lets see if I can help.

The best thing I can recommend is have a specific job that you like to fulfill. For me a tank/bruiser who has either a good amount of cc or a lot of damage and decent initiation works for me. So I try to play as many of those as I can. What I generally play is either Top/sup/jung so I can fill this role. I make sure I can play adc/mid if I need to, but generally I prefer to be the teams frontline. By filling this role, I limit the amount of importance specific champions have on my playstyle. I know what I want to be doing, and I only need to learn the few nuances each champion has that makes them do that role slightly differently. This helps me always know what I want to be doing in the game and has helped me carry some otherwise unfavorable games.

The most important thing is to know what you need to do, and what you are able to do. Playing a specific role a majority of the time helps you do this in a variety of situations. Of course don't neglect other roles. You got to make sure you can play everything adequately or you screw over your team.

I just hit plat 5 man and I think im gonna get demoted but I can tell you how I got here. If your ahead no matter what lane you are go roam and take objectives. The best champs in solo queue are ones with good mobility and cc like wukong, janna, and leblanc just to name a few. Also play your best champs, don't rage, ward everything. Also look at builds on probuilds and lolking.
