A question about MMR

So I have a question about MMR, or maybe its just about op.gg not sure. But op.gg said my mmr was quite a bit higher than normal. Then I lose a game now it says its quite a bit lower? Seems a bit confusing to me, my LP gains and losses are still relatively normal, usually gain like 20 or so and lose like 18-19. Though any time I lose a game at 0 LP I get demoted, so it might be lower. Just not sure how this works and I don't think the site has anything for this.

op.gg is just inaccurate. You should gain or lose a similar amount of LP on most games, not counting ones like loss prevented though.

I think your LP gains and losses are probably a better indicator of what your MMR really is.
