She was originally supposed to be a mid laner, and seemed to fit that MUCH better considering her entire kit is damage based. I'm not a Zyra main but I have been playing her mid since season 3 ish every so often. Just not sure what she has over any other support or what even makes her "support".
Volgaria3 votesI can get how she is useful as support, but to make her main role support seems weird to me. It just makes me worried to see any other mid mages taken support (Annie, Brand, Heim, Velkoz, etc) and that riot will just say "fuck it they are support now" and balance around that.

The ONLY expectation I had with this update was Zyra finnaly going to go back as an AP mid laner and it's the only thing they take away from her by making her a good support and "ok" mid lanner (wich is pretty much what she already is and what people don't like about her)

The majority of the time a champion will work in one role and get not the other. She is basically going to be forced bot lane, much like lulu support is getting the shaft as support so shes been forced mid/top. The only reason she is played support mostly is because mid has been shit for so long.
