Before you start playing ranked...

... play jungle and support at least 20 or so games so you can know what is expected of them in your elo. There have been too many games where I get harassed as the jungler because one of my laners has had to wait 10 or so minutes for a gank, then they proceed to troll. It's really annoying when you are trying to stay ahead in gold and xp so that you are strong enough that a gank will be a guaranteed kill or flash burned. I'm not claiming to be a perfect or even a good jungler, but sometimes people can be unreasonable. This should also be true for any other lane, I personally used to think all adcs are trash but after playing adc a few times in team builder I realized it was harder than I thought. So basically play every role, especially jungle or support, before you start playing ranked so you know how patient you have to be with your teammates.

Before you start playing ranked: DON'T F(Censored by Rito Games)ING TEST OUT THE NEWEST CHAMPION YOU JUST BOUGHT.

This is some solid advice. I'd also suggest learning about all the champs you can, or at least the popular ones, so you know their strengths, weaknesses, counters, and what they counter.

AND two more bits of advice. Don't get stuck in an "item path." Remember to limit each champ you play to two items you really ought to build to fill their role well, and leave 3 slots (because boots) for situational items, and know what items are good for your champ to fill what you need. Second, learn Map awareness! This is the best skill you can have in LoL.

ALSO... remember not to be a fucking troll. If people are lacking skills (assuming you're at a lower ELO...) BE HELPFUL, not a deuch. People don't improve because you tell them they suck, especially if you keep saying it over and over and over.

10 minutes is pretty long for 0 ganks...

Here's a tip: Before you start playing ranked, jump off of a building.

That way, you can't play ranked.

Thank me later, if you're not dead.

I remember thinking that playing ADC was hard. So I tried it a few times.

I sucked.

I still think ADC is hard.

And so I still play mainly Support, making the ADC's job easier.

I was starting to play ADC for the past few days, then I realized how hard it is to be one. I used to just think that ADC mains were just always mad for no reason, but they legit get so much abuse, and I play jungle. Laning phase is okay as long as you don't die or feed, but after that is where it gets hard. Your team wants you to be with them all the time in the team deathmatch that is bronze, but it's also kind of important to not lose that bot turret. My last game as Vayne I got fed, but my mid laner (who was feeding) felt there was a need to roam bot all game, even when I just backed, and fed our Draven. Long story short Draven got fed, I couldn't do anything, and the blame got put on me. You know why? I wasn't helping Katarina feed Draven because I just backed. I get a double kill in team fight and start clearing the waves to push while team gets ambushed chasing a kill, next thing you know you got the Taric writing in chat "F**king idiot vayne farming instead of team fighting" I got reported by him post game for unskilled. I even asked the enemy Draven post match how I was throughout the game. Direct quote: PL55: Honestly Draven was I that bad? (Taric): very (Draven): No you were actually okay, our team comp helped us out (Taric): you were terrible we lost because you were farming (Taric): reported for unskilled PL55: What I had to deal with this entire game can you imagine? After playing ADC for the past few days I actually understand sometimes it's hard to play as them. I also found out the perspective of the ADC being completely toxic while the support is an angel (not always true of course) is very inaccurate. Well, my own advice did me good I wish everyone would do this.

Agreed. I just had this mid laner flipping out at me for ganking through the back instead of the warded river... "omg dont go into their jungle they have khazix you idiot". Completely ignored the gank while typing this.

Dude, not even that can help some of these guys. Couple stories...

I was supporting a Sivir, and she goes in lane and she's going nuts with her attack that bounces all around the minions, and she's clearing waves, and pushing down lane, and I'm all like... "Uh, why are we pushing right now?" And this Siv just says "Why would we not be pushing." Next thing I know, the enemy jungler, Trundle, comes down river and wrecks us both. "That's why," I posted in chat. "You should have warded," Sivir said back. "I did, you just didn't look at your map. Not that it would have helped because you had no mana, we were at the enemy tower, and trundle has pillar of ice." .... "Your ****** retarded." <actual quote

There was this other time where I was in lane with a Jinx. The other team was Caitlyn - Sona, and I was explaining that they don't synergize well because Sona works best in a sustain lane, and Cait works best in a poke lane. It could work, but it isn't optimal. We have a decent kill lane, so we might be able to win lane relatively easily. And she follows up with... "What's a poke lane?" A few more gems of dialogue told me she was genuinely confused. The same thing happened when I mentioned sustain lane. Idiots....

It can be super frustrating to play jungle sometimes. If I'm playing a farm jungler that requires lvl 6 to gank, I am only ganking when the kill is assured 100% or if a summoner can be burnt.
