How to build Kennen?

Hey there, Master Fledgling here.

This will be a brief post because I am up to my eyes in work. Send help.

My first game with Kennen went OK, he has lots of CC, but then I somehow had a second game where I was the only initiator. While Fiddlesticks has his teleport screamer, all you can do is run at the enemy team really fast and get your face mauled. Even with Hourglass, I would die consistently. Perhaps it is too early on to say, but does one build Kennen a little bit tanky to help him survive if he is the only person on the time who can start a teamfight?
