Turn on smart casting
Memorize the range of his W.
Learn the max range you can W-E. Practice in a custom
Once you got down W-E, learn the max range for W-Q
Once you got down W-Q, put them all together.
Last hit the casters with Q. If you can position yourself in a way so that you last hit AND deal damage to your opponent.
Pay attention to your energy. Don't just spam abilities because you can.
Never use your W for damage unless you have wards.
Never blink in unless you can trigger your passive or you WILL lose the trade.
Max Q first.
Zed's ult only does damage if you land your Q. Double Q is a sure kill and triple Q is guaranteed.
Go to YouTube and watch a slowed down triple Q video of Zed. Keep hitting repeat until you understand everything he did to achieve a triple Q
That's what I start as well, as what I've seen most Zed's start...
Rushing
,
, and
have proved to be pretty successful for me.
Keep in mind Zed's passive, which makes farming incredibly easy, especially early in the game. Try to poke the enemy while taking as little damage as possible, then engage when you can kill them (either at 6 or if you get lucky beforehand.) Zed also has a fairly safe laning phase due to his high mobility + his slow from his shadow and E. I max my Q, then usually rush
and
(or
if they have a relatively tanky team.)
Mid lane is never just about racking up kills, try to also farm as much as you can. Roaming a lot to help bot and top snowball is really effective as well, as it is with most assassins.

This should be a decent tutorial to get started.
The best way to learn is to keep playing and learn from your mistakes. :D Good luck!
^liked everything in this until abt half way down.
MOST IMPORTANT POINT: YOU CAN RE-CAST ONCE TO MOVE TO A SHADOW YOU HAVE PLACED. (W and R each place one shadow) Laning phase: Zed is great for having perfect cs while harassing. I try to not have full fury for too long meaning i always harass. If youve done your ewq's efficiently they should be at abt 1/3 orless hp with no pots at level 5. If they are below 1/3 health dont harass more unless you want them to go b. But as soon as you hit six you can go all in and get the kill. Say you're standing in minions and they're at their tower with low hp. You can W (W again) to get in range for Death Mark and they're dead after the combo. Dont be afraid to chase a target after you ult, you have 6 seconds (of the top of my head) to teleport back to your ult shadow which, unlike your W, has infinite range.
Mid game:
Here comes the roams. This is where i believe zed is most powerful. In a perfect situation, its 12 mins in, youve killed mid roughly 3 times meaning you got yourself a Hydra(or a bortk) a brut, and boots, personally I go mobos almost every game. You should gank or kill your lane EVERY ult. And even in between. The adc is your prime target, and keeping an eye on drag/their jung is your secondary. At this point you usually cant 100 to 0 anyone but their adc and mid(depending on team comp) so try to save your ult for either of them. With that said, dont be scared to ult a support who's impactful like;
or
. If theyre any good you'll be so cced and they will be so healed youd look like you were wood VI afterwards. Or if you catch a
bind in the face you'll know what i mean.
While im on the subject of cc, it is your WORSE enemy. (Anyones really) so avoid it as much as possible. One way to do so is to ult an enemy in order to dodge their abilities.
Few examples of ultimates I've dodged personally.
(tornado technically)
and thats all that comes to mind.
Heading into the late game you should keep the same mentality of killing the adc but remember you're even squishier because they've caught up by now.
Most of Zed like any champ comes down to how much you play them. Just dedicate to him, you'll pick him up.
Believe me, you'll fall in love when you play you're first fed zed. 40% cdr gives you a ~45 sec cd on ult which can kill the adc with the mark alone. Thats right, double tap R to kill. (Rare circumstance, but happens.
I hope this ramble helped, hope to see you on the fields of justice.
Hey heres a good idea, if your bad with zed dont play him.... People have different playstyles so if you are bad with zed just fid someone htat you are good with that fits your playstyle. You don't need to play all the OP champs because you won't be playing in the LCS anytime soon.
