I was watching my bronze friend play ranked and I noticed the opposing adc was getting fed, 4/1 and the other team had 4 ad champs in total. Because of this I told my friend to start stacking armor, first a frozen heart, then randuins and even a thornmail afterwards.

My friend was actually 4v5 with a d/c adc on his team and he was stomping team fights because nobody could hurt him. Not a single person on the other team bought a last whisper the entire game. If they had bought that 1 simple item after noticing all the armor on my friend they could have won the game.

When in game press tab to view the scoreboard, this magical menu tells you many wonderful things. With this tool you can see what items your opponents have been buying, who has a lot of gold (cs and kills/assists), summoner spells and lastly levels.

If you see someone on the other team getting fed you should take notice of what role they are playing and what they are buying. If they are going heavy damage then you should be buying armor/mr, whichever is needed, really soon. Even if the enemy top laner is getting fed and you are bot lane, you should be thinking about mitigation.

If you see someone on the other team getting really tanky and you are a damage dealer, you should be thinking about getting some armor/magic penetration really soon. I know you really want to hunt down that vayne but if volibear is all up in your face you are going to need to get a last whisper to slice through him.
