So I recently read I thread on how really good kalista players generally climb the ladder very fast. Now I don't want to learn her to climb. I want to learn her because shes a good ADC. Why is it that I can orb walk with a 2.2 attack speed kalista but am still not doing great. I didn't think there was much to kalista other than Spam auto's + q then rend them for half their HP.
Why is the difference between a good kalista player and a bad one? How can I do better on her?
No worries, I cant give you tips on Kalista due to inexperience with the Champion. But i can tell you that there is nothing bad about Not knowing a champion. Take a moment to be Creative and think about what her kit can Do for you and what you can do with It. For one Q is a nice poke and auto reset, Sentinel has great Vision opportunities and the passive needs to be worked with a good support, Rend is very good against cocky enemies, and your R i dont think any other ADC has an initiation CC spell like that. You can also use ti to save your support from death.
She relies alot on teamwork, and is also very mobile, Work on your "MoonWalking" and kiting and i am sure you will get her down.

dude tell me how she climbs period I always thought kalista needed peel and i never see her played and when she does get played she wins lane then gets dumpstered but maybe thats cause I see a kalista and go for super aggro champs idk most comments I hear say she needs a good support
the common misconception of adc's
its not how they team fight but how they objective control. you can carry with anyone if you know how to control towers and large monsters.

Just a reminder that Kalista's hop no longer scales on attack speed, but on boot tier. I played a game with someone who claimed to be trying to learn her and refused to buy that third tier (you really need it before you go to your next item in my opinion) - and spent the entire end game complaining about how everyone else can kite fine with her but they were failing. She really can't kite or get decent positioning without that third tier.
because shes hard. really she is. but she looks easy and OP so no one gives credit where credit is due to the good ones.
Where are you doing bad exactly?
Do you have attack-move-click binded into your mouse/keyboard?
Personally id say kalista is one of the hardest ad's to play due to the fact that half of your kit is tied to another player i would highly recommend you playing her with a duo or u will spend 80 percent of the game explaining your kit to ur support assuming they dont give up after the first 2 minutes. also shift clicking is way less reliable than the A+click method and is liable to get you killed due to the way it prioritizes the direction you go in for the attack. also you really dont need or even want 2.5 AS on kalista since she will be attacking way faster than martial cadence can keep up and you will be wasting the extra attack speed unless you stand still
