Why is Jungle Galio NOT meta?

Hey there, Galio Main -- I mean, Master Fledgling here.

So there are two games where I CRUSH the enemy team as Galio Jungle -- and it's not like they were doing terribly either. He has fantastic sustain, good clear and, after a rune glaive, has zero mana issues in the jungle. His ganks are also very strong, even pre 6. Post 6, they're basically an assured kill.

What's not to love? Why is he not a thing? Because Galio is given no attention?

Thanks and don't steal my waifu, Galio-San Galio <3<3<3

Oh ho ho but Bulwark is likely the strongest part of his kit, sans his ult!!

I think it's more of a popularity issue. Near nobody plays Galio, and the ones you do see are at one of two extremes (they've pumped hours into making a perfect game, or they have absolutely no idea what they're doing) because of it.

So, yeah...

Most likely it's because he has only one hard CC and no mobility. I've always liked Galio as an off meta jungler since he has phenomenal sustain, great clear speed, and huge team fight presence, but the fact that it is relatively hard to gank with him (at least compared to a lot of other junglers) has kind of kept him out of the spotlight. You as a Galio main obviously are better at him than me which is why you don't think he's hard to gank with, but for most junglers, the question usually comes down to "how is this any better than X other champ?" and having slightly higher than average sustain, good clear, and good team fighting at the cost of the phenomenal ganking power (or rather, the phenomenal reliability and simplicity of ganking) of some other junglers holds him back. He doesn't really have a clear niche when he's in the jungle; is he a tanky support type? or a power farm and carry late game type? or a ganker? an objective controller?

You may find a lot of success with him, and he definitely isn't weak (imo, Galio has been sleeper OP for ages), the only issue is that he isn't really that well specialized.

Honestly, it is a bit lack luster. I mean, Q, E, Q chilling smite optional is basically a gank pre 6. Post six ... well y'know.

Yeah, what I mean by difficult to gank with isn't that it's a hard sequence of buttons or a complicated combo, I mean basically all you can do minus your ult it chuck a bunch of damage at the enemy and walk after them. at least he has a slow and a MS buff, but compared to someone like Gragas with a hard CC, slow, gap closer, and high early damage all without ult, you see the difference (at least in the eyes of a jungler)
