I love to play Leona but often struggle with my itemization which leads to cluttered inventories and a vulnerable Leona. I know sighstone first for supporting. After that, I am not sure if I should rush FOTM or go into something like Aegis, Frozen Heart, or Randuins. Also, when it comes to those 3 items I mentioned, I am not sure of which is a better early buy. Aegis is rather expensive and deciding which armor item can be a struggle. Any help would be very appreciated.
is a pretty solid build with Leona. Of course you should learn to itemize for each match but this is a pretty basic build that will make you tanky as shit and allow you to provide good cc and peel (in the form of FOTM/Locket shields) for your team.
I don't even use FOTM with Leo. I get Targon's ASAP, and after laning phase I trade it in for Talisman of Ascension. The stats kind of suck, but the speed boost can really help out in teamfights. If we win our lane, I try to take care of that. If we lose our lane, or I'm getting hammered, I'll build tank stuff first. The Talisman makes that rough part in midgame kind of worse, but if you can play through it, it's worth it IMO. If minion waves are dying before you can smack em, go ahead and switch.
I usually go with Randuins, mainly for that slow. Get Warden's Mail after your sightstone. You can upgrade to Randuin's or the Frozen Heart from that. I tend to always get the first one, but i'll grab Frozen Heart if I'm ahead, or if I'm really sick of people hitting me. It doesn't really matter what you get, you'll still be tanky, so long as you're getting the right thing for what you need. If they have a ton of AP, I take Banshee's. Anything less than that, I usually just get the Locket of the Iron Solinari, and I buy it last. No AP, get a thornmail and crawl up their butt.
I always hate the middle part of the game with Leo. Just try to play thru it. Roam around and help some other lanes get kills, and play smart. Once you get ahead and get one or two pieces of tank gear, Leo is a beast.

I usually prioritize over on Leona, because the stats her W gives her make it so she benefits quite a bit from extra HP, rather than straight-up armor. FH is legit against an all-AD team, or a team that's very reliant on autoattacks.

, . Also really good options are and . It's not really necessary to rush , but upgrade to ASAP because the charges will spawn much faster, giving you more gold.
Some have suggested items like and , and while these aren't horrible for Leona, these are pretty greedy purchases for a support, as they don't really bring anything to your team. The items previously mentioned, plus , bring much more utility for your team.
