This game is essentially divided into three concepts:

1- mechanics 2- game knowledge 3- champion select

that's it.

1- Mechanics? Not much to explain. Improve as you go. They make up I'd say only about 15%-20% of a player.

2- game knowledge. This is the fat one. 60% or 70% of winnign in league is knowing WHAT to do and WHEN to do it. Some basic things you need to know: Objectives > kills almost always. Baron > dragon. Wards= win.

3- champ select. Honestly, As much as I hate to admit it, you have to spam and a couple more to win.

If you play people like you're putting yourself in a disadvantage, at least in the current meta. It sucks unfortunately but it's what it is.

Also I'm probably a bit biased, but I think the points I made are (somewhat) accurate.

I agree with very little of what you have said here. Game knowledge is a very important aspect yes, but mechanics are maybe 30-40% of the game. And it isn't just 1v1 mechanics, its the little things like knowing how to ward across large walls into more desirable places to avoid having to face check bushes. Being able to time smite steals effectively as a jungler, orb walking as ADC's. All of these things will help you much more than you actually realize. #2 is about the only part i agree with completely. Game knowledge is the game winner. Knowing where the enemy jungler should be at what times based on where they start? Huge in both laning, and counterjungling/counterganking. Knowing the proper time to push down towers hard, or grab dragon/baron instead? Huge. Knowing your favorable/unvfavorable matchups and having a gameplan of an effective counterbuild? Lifesaving. Every little bit you know is going to help get you that win you deserve. #3? Not so much. Theres a guy who made it to diamond with an 87% winrate on Urgot after getting trolled in a "pick my main champion" thread on the old boards. Posted a LoLNexus link to prove it. As long as you understand every little bit of your main champion, you have a better chance of carrying games than the people who continuously pick up just the OP champions for one or two patches and have to spend all of their time getting those mechanics down. That's not to say that there isn't a difference in some champions usefulness, but as long as you have both rules 1 and 2 down, rule #3 isn't as big an issue.

Lux is a decent lichbane support, but... blegh.

She's good a trading/poking bot lanes, but she's not as good as Morgana.

Lucian not that great, Lee sin not that easy to play compared to 3 other junglers. You wanna know the real strategy to winning solo Q? Play pub-stomp champs. Pick champs that can always catch back up, or take a team effort to shut down, and are strong in 1v1, and can preferably split push.

Stuff like Irelia, Riven, Zed, Yi, Nasus, etc. Things that duel well, are never completely out of the game, can catch back up if they fall behind, works well afking farming or splitting, and if ahead, dominates entire teams. And, doesn't really rely on anyone to get them going ala ADC.

Thats just my opinion. Just about any assassin, melee hyper carry, carry bruiser, etc. works. Some have harder early games than others like Yasuo, Akali, Kat, etc. which is why I'd stick with stuff like Irelia, Riven, Zed, etc. who have strong early games, too.

Just pick one of these easy to play, solo Q monster champs and spam him until you go blue in the face, and you have the best chance to win.

What the hell is wrong with Aatrox??? He is a fantastic champion. just because he isn't a nonsense burst champion like Katarina or akali doesn't mean that he is bad. idk about all of you but I F**k shit up as Aatrox.
