Is double jungle viable?

With the new jungle changes me and a friend have rocked some double jungle games as XinZhao and JarvanIV . First thing we do is both clear a side at the start and then both invade the enemy jungler and shut him down and take his red/blue buff. Next we go to bot lane since it will most likely be pushed and get a gank off if possible. We do regular ganks to lanes and show a little more attention to bot than normal and its been working. We're still trying it with a few other champs to see what synergizes well and we don't starve each other if we continue to invade the enemy jungle.

A lot of people are against it because it isn't "traditional meta" of course but is there anyone else who does double jungle as a serious effort to make things interesting and give not a new meta, but a new strategy on how the game can be played. Would like your feedback good or bad for the double jungler teams out there!

Literally every strategy can be viable, you simply need all members of your team on the same page from the very start of the game.

From what you've said it sounds like double jungle is more of a counter meta, it's good against a particular version of the meta but it's not quite strong enough to stand on it's own. This could be because it is new, or because there is some flaw in it that has not shown itself just yet. If you want to practice it feel free, just don't expect random players to go along. Perhaps you could gather a few more friends and make a 5s team.

Keep in mind that the "traditional meta" is built around reliability, where as many off meta strategies are a high risk/high reward sort of deal. That's not to say they are bad, even when the high risk part takes over, they are simply unreliable to those who do not have extensive practice.

Honestly, in my opinion, it sounds like it's only working because the enemy doesn't expect it.

If this WERE to become the new meta, then the current meta being played in the new meta wouldn't be expected.

Double jungle will not work past a certain point - enemies capitalize too hard.

there are 4 ways to make gold in this game, the support giving up their lane they could have in exchange for a stronger adc/top/mid/jg when you split up 1 of the 4 ways to make money, you are left with 3 1/2 bank accounts vs the enemy 4 1/2 (1/2 being support) meaning you have less items, less late game presence, and are left behind if you don't have very successful ganks.

i've done double jungle in gold, it worked. they didn't know how to deal with it i've tried double jungle in diamond, it failed. we were just counterjungled by support jungle combo. we had to stick together (therefore splitting our gold even FURTHER). tl;dr in this patch, junglers make less gold than support. when you double jungle, you are splitting up what you got from Goodwill.

Nunu is perfect for this strategy. The only problems with this are if your AD gets caught and dies early, they'll end up too far behind. If the enemy laners see you invading and you get caught in a 3v2, that's 2 people that end up behind.

League's laning phase isn't about farming or buying items stop.

where as double jungle is all about counter jungling and maintaining lane pressure to deny gold to the enemy team. stop...

it denies the enemy team enough to more than make up for it ............. did you forget about your 1v2 bot lane

the reason the current 1-1-2 and solo jg setup is for a few reasons

top- you want a reliable solo laner usually tanky up top since it is isolated from dragon and early barons are rarely ever a problem to watch for so they are going to be alone 1v1 for the majority of the laning phase, hence why a lot of late game champs like nasus, trundle, jax and mundo end up there, and part of the reason riven gained so much attention as a lane bully

mid- mid lane is usually high burst and has shifted more toward high mobility assassins as they are in the middle of the map and can react to fights quicker and pump out enough damage to turn a fight if needed

bot- you have an adc/support bot because of its close proximity to dragon so you have 2 players standing by to quickly intercept an enemy dragon attempt, and the support/adc setup is because adcs are so item reliant and has such a weak early game that it helps to have someone who can soak up passive gold simply by being there and help the adc farm up as fast as possible

as for your setup, if the enemy reacts correctly and wards their jungle and is watching for you, especially down bot, it can completely ruin your strategy, say you are spotted clearing their red and your mid and bot laners are pushed to turret, if both of you are there, it ends up being 4v2 very quickly, with your mid and adc (who is very underfarmed from being bullied in lane in a 2v1) showing up late to a very unfavorable fight

not to say it cant work, but against any team who is semi organized, i dont see it working very often, leaves your dragon very vulnerable to quick grabs by the enemy team, and if you get pushed out of their jungler, that leaves 2 junglers trying to clear a jungle that already leaves one jungler having to build on a budget

also, it leaves your team hitting late game earlier from the deny that is undoubtedly going to happen to your adc... theres a reason most pro games end at ~25 minutes, thats when the adcs start hitting their real power

If one of those 2 jungler is a nunu, then yes it's wurf. otherwise one jungler or both is/are going to fall behind.

I appreciate everyone's input. I'll try looking out for some counter plays against this comp as we get into higher elos. We currently go against gold and platinum players in draft and do pretty good. Ranked may be a different story but we will see!

It will be as soon as tournament teams start doing it.
