Good Mid Lane picks anyone?

Does anyone know of champs that can play mid lane very well? I know about Leblanc and Zed and Katarina... but I don't just want the FoTM or what everyone and their mother plays. Any recommendations on a solid champ?

Are all champions that I've seen mid, some with more success than others, but since you're level 13 you've got plenty of time to dabble on your way to 30.

There is no magic pill to win you the game in any lane. The solid pick is the one you practice.

What it seems like you are asking for is a niche pick with a low chance of being countered because it is niche, I'm here to tell you that you're wasting your time with that line of thinking. Pick a champion that YOU think will do well in mid and practice it. Learn the item builds, learn the power spikes, learn how to apply pressure, and learn how your pick matches up vs other champions.

The ONLY way you can gain this knowledge is by doing it yourself over and over and over again. After all, it doesn't matter how "solid" a champion is if you don't know how to play it.

I'm a huge Malzahar player, so I would definitely recommend him. If you're able to land his entire E,W,R combo you'll melt just about any champ who was unlucky enough to be your target. Personally, I also run ignite on Malz as a little extra insurance damage in my attempt to ensure my opponent's death.

Brand or Malzahar both have tons of great AOE team-fight damage. They are also great for Dot's with item 3151

Karma brings great utility to the game, as well as a somewhat oppressing laning phase with a spammable AOE poke/slow and shield+MS boost (Not to mention the amazing self-peel that can be mantra'd into a heal). Fun, versatile, and a great addition to all team comps.

Usually if it's labeled as a mage or an assassin they are generally good choices for mid lane.

JarvanIV get item 3134 and item 3077 then start dunking. Edit: 19 arp runes +item 3134 item 3142 item 3035 + 26% reduction from q means your autos and Ult deal true damage to anyone under 88 armor.

When I started going mid, I found Annie to be my favorite. She has an easy time farming and has the versatility to be built either defensively or as a burst mage.

I love Swain, he's a good counter pick and if he gets fed he's literally unkillable late game without some serious coordination from the other team. He has a pretty high skill curve though as he's a DOT mid not a burst mid. He's also pretty easy to counter if the opponent knows him.

Believe me, ALL mid laners are viable, you just gotta know when to pick them. I've been a main mid for about 2 years, and well: If you want a team friendly, aoe sortaa champion: Ziggs Orianna Karthus

If you want to dominate in lane, these guys are great to stomp with but require like a good knowledge of them: Leblanc Fizz Yasuo Otherwise, if you want to climb in ranked, champions who are great at snowballing: Katarina Talon Xerath ; another type of champions to climb, are champions who are rarely picked so your opponent probably doesn't know how to deal with you, and this is a great advantage, like: Viktor Kennen (and one of my favorites, she deals tons of damage) Anivia

Ahri Chogath Veigar is fun if you can cs, build stacks, and survive his early game.

Dear Kaeinor,

Have you considered AP MissFortune, Vladimir, Sion, Urgot or Pantheon?

Best regards, Mr. Beane.

I love Vel'koz! Easy mechanics to learn, with lots of room for mastery. If you can get over not having a movement spell, you might like him.

Core build, item 3174 or item 3165, item 3020, item 3151, then item 3135 if you're ahead and nobody on their team is too fed, item 3157 if an AD champ is getting fed. If you're laning against an ad assassin, buy a cloth armor first back.

Annie Farm with Q, AOE Stun with W and R, Thornmail E (Armor and MR as well.), Huge Burst.

In return she's weak to poke and a bit immobile.

Her auto attacks are also getting nerfed so be aware.
